Watching Linux distros (and yes, it is usually Debian packagers who act the most sanctimonious) shoot themselves in the face and then insult upstream AND the users of a popular package under the delusion that only the distro's self-declared experts are capable of making decisions is always a good reminder as to why you will never be able to waterboard me into using Linux as my primary desktop. TIL: 'zerofree' finds the unallocated, blocks with non-zero value content in an ext2, ext3 or ext4 filesystem [...] and fills them with zeros.

Despite the very clever people working at Google & Fitbit, my Pixel Watch still marks me mowing the lawn as "Biking" every time.
I do get that the arm position will be pretty much identical but maybe they ought to consider metadata - how many people are cycling for an hour whilst in wifi range and within ~60 metres of their home location whilst moving at walking pace? 🤣

New Coming up very very soon.. and I don’t have £170 to throw at a TV license right now, certainly not for effectively one show.

The bizarre thing is that if I were inclined to pirate it I'd get in less trouble than watching it on iPlayer without a license.

I'll probably just catch it at a friend's place maybe.. shall see. I'll be sad to be missing what looks like a fun new series of it.

Ok, as broken as youtube is on a low res screen, it's even more unusable on a high res screen, as the "includes payed promotion" banner that only appears once your cursor is hovering over the video thumbnail, is nearly as big as the video thumbnail, and takes you to a useless help page instead of the video

Why do marketing people get so obsessed about time someone spends on a page (with the assumption that longer=better because 'engagement')? Good IA should mean users find what they want quickly; good UX means quick ordering. Good copywriting means quick comprehension, doesn't it?
