Here's my little physical collection of goodness.

So, two problems with this.

  • Where the fuck is my original RE 2? I was 1000% certain of where I would find it. I swear I do own the PC platinum edition in a DVD case. I also know exactly in which cardboard box it is. There should be a burnt backup of RE3 in there as well. 😅
  • Why do I own two copies of RE 1's original PC port? And since when? I was really surprised when I pulled out a second copy. 🤣

I didn't feel up to RE4Make this evening, so I thought a nice relaxing round of Effect might help calm me down.
I honestly don't know what exactly happened the last hour, but my brain is soooooo overexcited. I hope I'll be able to get to sleep. 😅
With all the colors, explosions, music and sound effects, this reminds me very much of . Sadly, as I've noticed a few months ago, that is no longer for me. I'll probably finish the adventure mode, but then I'm done.

Man, 2.5h of gaming time and I breezed through the castle in 4 Remake. I finished the fight against Salazar just in time and I'm heading for the island. I'm so low on everything, you wouldn't believe it...😬
But what really got me was the fight against Salazar's right hand. I was so certain that they would be dead after I emptied all the liquid nitrogen on them, but they just got back up. That's what I get for playing on hardcore, I guess. 😅

I finally had some time again to play 4 Remake. The last two sidequests in the castle area were a bit annoying. I couldn't find the crow for ages and I spent a bunch of ammo until I figured out the egg. 🙈
The fight with Salazar was also surprisingly hard. I died a few times until I figured it out. And I still took some hits.
Secrent Agent Leon also shot the first barrel he saw and triggered a huge fight on the island. Very sneaky... 😅

Leon looking up at industrial walkways that remind me of an oil rig.
Ramon Salazar transforms into a hideous and tough monster for a final boss fight in the castle. I love how Leon just can't be bothered at the end and just shoots him before the fight. "You talk too much" indeed.
Leon can see Ashley through a barred window. So close, yet so far...

Aaaaaaaaargh. I hate this whole Bitcoin weirdness. I just want to get rid of the bit of crypto I won in a writing contest and I'd live to give it to a FOSS project.
But now I need to learn about Lightning and sign up at an exchange and whatnot!?! 🤬
Does anybody know some FOSS projects that accept lightning transfers directly, so I can fasttrack this process and be done with crypto ASAP?
I really don't want another account and another wallet. 😩

I had some time for 4 Remake again. 🤩
I've progressed up to and slightly beyond the town church. I'm on my way to "get the key from the other side of the lake" a.k.a. Chapter 3. 😅
I'm really enjoying it so far. Everything seems weirdly familiar, but slightly different, like a dream I might have had.

Finally got some time to play again.
And I took some pictures for y'all. Nothing much, but I always felt like coming empty handed when talking about my play sessions. 😅
I feel like I'm coming up on the end of the game. I've cleaned up most parts of the city and the game is showing me 85% completion. Chances are good that the next play session will be the last. 🙂
I've enjoyed my time with the game and it's alright if it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Still grinding away at the final trial of . Narratively it took an unexpected turn, because I missed the implication of what dragging out the truth would mean for the defendant. 😨
I'm also very much looking forward to see if there's any redeeming factors for the prosecutor Lord van Zieks. So far he's a racist asshole, but prosecutors in the original trilogy usually had some last minute redemption arc that explained their behavior and character.

I finally finished .
A game I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who's into open world and/or Spider-Man. Or even people who are just up for a good story.
I really had a ton of fun with this game. And the ending caught me off guard with how much it touched my heart. 🙂

(Looks at giant backlog pile)
So...what's next? 😅

I finally finished the final trial of ... but not the game. 😅
I'm stuck in the epilogue, but that's okay. The rest can wait until tomorrow. The thrilling part is done and I'm very happy how things turned out.
Maybe while I sleep on it (and wait for my kids to wake me at 5 😬), I should make up my mind if I want to continue with the sequel straight away or play something else for a while. 🤔

My assumption yesterday was correct. I played through "Till Death Do Us Part" in Blood Money twice more.
Once I limited the FPS to 60 using the game finally no longer crashed after the mission.
I sped through the next mission with the Sheikh in Vegas, too. Left a body in the toilets (undiscovered), used a lot of explosives, didn't care about the cameras that recorded me and ultimately just ran for it. Still got a "Professional" rating for that. 😅

@mforester@rollenspiel.social avatar

Argh. I managed to stealth my way to two "Silent Assassin" ratings and then axe murdered my way through a third mission (because I ran out of time and patience), but the game crashed. I hope that doesn't always happen in this mission. I'm planning to come back with more patience soon. 😅
For reference: it's that damn Tennessee wedding mission. An early disguise is easy to get, but you have to wait aaaaages for the drunk guest to stumble out of sight. 😩

I managed to play some -- finally. This has been on my radar for a long while, but I finally took the plunge after reading this essay here:

I've played somewhere between 3 and 4h and I think I'm almost done with it. It's a great game and saying much more would be spoiling it. Give it a try if you're into walking sims.
It's also very pretty. 🤩 I took a bunch of screenshots, but their stuck on my PC. I'll try to post some next time.

Since I reinstalled , I can't stop playing it. 😅
Can't stop as in "I played it on a second evening where I found the time". It's still really fun and good. 🙂
Although I have two pain points that I noticed more today than the last time I played it.

  1. Almost all of Act II is set between shipping containers. That's probably why I always forget about it.
  2. If an enemy has a shotgun, their spread is reduced by roughly 1000%. They can snipe you from across a shipyard. 🤯

I might have just sped through 2 - Six Golden Coins. 😅
That's been on my replay list for a while and it seemed fitting after Super Mario World. I remember spending hours upon hours with this game as a kid and I was genuinely surprised that I just ran through it in about an hour.
Then again, I was very much "eyes on the price" and didn't look for any secrets.
Still my least favorite Mario on the GameBoy. 🤔

I listened to a podcast about and that really made me want to pick it back up.
So I did! 🤩
What an amazing game. I wasn't able to appreciate it as a kid, because I wanted the "better looking" Donkey Kong, but SMW has aged much better in comparison. The levels are breezy and I'm already knocking at the doors of castle 3 and 4 (there are some secret levels skipping castle 3).
I only wanted to dip in for a few levels, but I think I'll finish this again.

A screenshot from a cutscene. Mario has defeated the first boss and destroyed his castle, saving a Yoshi egg in the progress.

Yeah, new game. 💪
I'm kinda not in the mood for an animated VN like Zero Time Dilemma (and I'm 99% certain that I've finished it before).
Luckily I remembered that I have 3 installed. I loved Mimimi's and have bought this ages ago. I wanted a "short" break from real time tactics, so...I kinda forgot about it.
It's just as great as I imagined it would be. 🤩
Only played two missions, but it's still fun to strategically dismantle a band of enemies.

While I was waiting for my Windows partition to die a slow and painful death (😅) I also decided to start 2: Resolve.
It was a perfect distraction and I'm very excited that it picks up one of the loose threads from the first game immediately in the very first court case. Looking forward to where this is going. 🙂

Made some decent progress. I 'ed through 3 missions in Blood Money. Almost managed a fourth one, too, but I had to quit and saves don't persist once you've left the mission. 😬
Nevermind. I've gotten a feel for the place now and I'll be able to speed through the next time.
Still have to figure out how to get that mysogonist bastard in the pool though. 🤔
It's fun to replay these missions. I've seen them countless times before, but I'm still learning new things.

I felt in the mood to f*** shit up, so I got back into . The last time I played 14 chapters in a row and grew a bit tired of the gameplay. Now I only played for about 25 minutes and 5 chapters and I crave more. 😅
Maybe I should play it in smaller chunks. It's a game well suited for that. It also helped that the 5 chapters I played today had some really interesting level design ideas.
Now for some late dinner and then some Great Ace Attorney. 😁

Alright! Let's get this party started like it's '93! 😎

This is an amazing game and I'm happy to play it again. Even though I haven't played it in forever, I still remember a lot about this game, e.g. what to do with the red paint. 😬

So far, I've done a few things with Hoagie in the past, up to the point where Laverne finally becomes playable. I still have to search the Edison mansion with Bernard.

The GameBoy had some amazing games. 🥰
I wasn't quite ready to let this system go, after speeding through Mario Land 2. So I played SML 1 too (first try, no savestates, 35 minutes) and I'm now replaying #DonkeyKong. I forgot how clever the game is at showing what you can do and how it keeps adding new things all the way until the end. I'm now at the second to last stage and I still haven't reached the "let's get this over with" state. 😁

I beat with all secrets. In truth, I only have 95/96 exits, but I definitely went through all levels, so I assume I missed a regular exit somewhere in the Forest of Illusion.
Anyway, I'm done and happy. This was a joy to revisit. 🥰
