OMG, I haven’t even got 10.9.5 installed yet.

If this is the pace of updates, I fear for client devs

mhzawadi,
@mhzawadi@lemmy.horwood.cloud avatar

WOW Looks like they have uncorked the update process, could be a wild ride for a bit

this, most likely a netmask mismatch.

Make sure all 3 devices have a /24 (255.255.255.0) network mask

I live under a rock, so whats a threads and who is Mark Zuckerburg?

I gest, I really dont care that Mark is on the fediverse. Till my Lemmy instance is full of threads crap and I have to route via the Zuckerburg hive mind.

How to remotely reboot a Linux host if SSH fails to connect?

Edit2: Thanks all for your responses! I have checked the logs, lemmy.nz/comment/6192604, and based on that removed tracker-miner-fs as it’s a search/index tool which I don’t need. No idea why it took over all memory. I’ll also get a WiFi Smartplug as a kill switch. Hopefully that solves it. Thanks again heaps!...

Maybe investigate why it hung?

That could be a sign of something bigger about to kill it altogether

Constantly getting possible hack attempt floods from certain IP addresses.

This is infuriating that I continue to get this repeats of nine and more possible hack attempts from the same certain IP addresses blocked by Malwarebytes, which I get popups every time it happens. This is a snapshot from my logs after one has happened, and I also save text file logs of it....

A quick search shows that IP is known for hacking type requests www.abuseipdb.com/check/45.79.168.172

I would check how your router is setup, as they should not be hitting your computer at all.

If I had all the time I wanted to homelab, I would get me a Nas box and run like 10 pis of different vintages as purpose built servers.

A pi to run PHP, a pi to run mysql, a fleet of pis as docker nodes.

I would move the SSL to your VPS, make that your nginx entry point.

Then use virtual servers in nginx to listen on the wiregiard nic for local stuff and it’s public IP for internet accessible stuff, you could also add in some Auth service for things without MFA.

welp f-droid.org/en/docs/FAQ_-_App_Developers/-my…

I’ve published a new release. Why is it not in the repository? When we detect a new release, it may take a few days to make it into the repository as the build process has several steps and runs only once a day. Before the build has completed, the monitor page for your app will list it in F-Droid Monitor - Need updating. As long as the text under Versions stating “The current (recommended) version is xxx (version code yyy)” shows the version numbers corresponding to your latest release, we detected it and the APK should be available soon. Just give it some time.

Another reason could be that the app failed to build. You can watch the build process on F-Droid Monitor - Running and the previous cycle in Build.

Also gitlab.com/fdroid/wiki/-/wikis/FAQ#how-long-does-…

How long does it take for my app to show up on website and client? Your MR has just been merged, but the APK did not show up immediately? That’s normal: the APK must first be built on the build server (happens automatically when the next build cycle starts), then signed (manual step), then a new index must be created and deployed.

a build cycle currently can take up to 72h (hard limit)

apps are manually signed after that (if not reproducible), and then uploaded next build cycle starts after signing is completed

So if you’re lucky, it takes 3 days (new build cycle just started minutes after the merge). If you’re not-that-lucky (merge happened a minute after a build cycle started), it will take 6 days. If you’re very unlucky, Murphy visits in between with some problems… So don’t panic before 7 days have passed, please. 😉 Please also note that the website is updated asynchronously – so while the index might already have reached your local client, website might still be a bit behind.

I use nextcloud to collate all my RSS feeds, I can then access them all from the nextcloud web UI or the mobile app

Pro tip, opera’s built in VPN to India will get you YouTube family premium for about £6.

If you can use it of course

Self hosted SSH key repository?

I have too many machines floating around, some virtual, some physical, and they’re getting added and removed semi-frequently as I play around with different tools/try out ideas. One recurring pain point is I have no easy way to manage SSH keys around them, and it’s a pain to deal with adding/removing/cycling keys. I know I...

That’s a long rant, but your on point with it. I have a colleague who refuses to try new things cuz they don’t understand that it makes life easier, I do tend to find the solutions that are simpler and easier to work

mhzawadi,
@mhzawadi@lemmy.horwood.cloud avatar

I would have a look at your networking as I have lots of cloud services setup on my home assistant running on a pi4, without more network info it’s difficult to say where you might have issues
