Big thunderstorm here in hobart. Some lightning was nearly blinding.

And correct me if I am wrong...I think I can see smoke coming from within the CBD? a plume too low to be a cloud and outlined against the rain

The scholarship prize thingy I applied for was presented to me today...so now I have $200 to go to projects. In the application I said that I would make a kind of automated rover...kinda forgot about that

so now I have 3 weeks to design and build until I have to submit a report to the sponsors

guess I should start working

it would be really nice if laptops with backlit keyboards also had backlit touchpads. Especially for thinkpads - I find it a little difficult to locate the middle click button in the dark.

why can't google just give you the direct URL when copying links from the front page

Apparently is actually open-source, you just buy the compiled versions. So I compiled it for a friend who can't afford the $50 steam version (and I wouldn't either - I didn't buy it for myself, someone gave it to me as a steam gift)

An excellent guide here:

How often do you do a full upgrade / 'Syu?

We have AI that can create almost indistinguishable images and conversations.

We have literal cyberpunk augmented reality.

We have instant communication.

We're about to take greater leaps into space.

If that's what it's like right now, things are about to get a lot more crazy.

Why are through-hole MCX connectors in particular so darn expensive, like seriously, $11 plus shipping for a tiny part? I just want to repair my SDR, $11 is more than half of what I paid for

I'm thinking of starting a project soon that needs a niche of communication which LoRa fits perfectly. However, I'm still a little confused about the regulations around the standard.

I know The Things Network implements duty cycle restrictions. I won't be using the network - but is there also regulations on the band as a whole? I'm in Australia, so it's the 915-928mhz range.
