monty33,

I like using a specific finger. Guess which one wed all pick 😂

monty33,

Glad to get one! Anyone know why Harper sat? Anything to do with his tumble?

monty33,

I have templates for various regular meetings that I attend. In these templates I have a property called “attendees”. In each template I pre-populate that with names of folks who are regular attendees. Then I can edit it to catch the attendees on that specific day. This helps me when I search for a person’s name it pops up with the meetings they attended.

monty33,

Is that user correct? I get an error when I click on it.

monty33,

I will be running Truenas scale with ZFS, so will be installing 32GB of memory.

I realize a full size PCI slot would be better, but not really necessary for my application. Both have 6 SATA and two M.2s. I could put a 6 SATA/M.2 adapter in when I need more HDs. I’m really just comparing these two, and I don’t really see any disadvantages to the N100 board.

monty33,

I’m very happy with my current N5105 board that I linked, even though it doesn’t have any PCI slots. With 6 SATA and two M.2s I should be ok. If necessary I can add a 6 SATA M.2 adapter to get up to 12, which is definitely more than I need. If/when I get 10gbe I would have to upgrade either of these to get those speeds. Although a M.2 PCI riser with a 10gbe card would get me ~7gb so that is also an option.

Any thoughts on these two boards? I don’t see any real disadvantages to the N100 board when compared to the N5105.

monty33,

I struggle to find a motherboard and separate CPU that gives me better value that this. Neither of these are perfect but I think that offer plenty for my use as a NAS.

monty33,

What is the best way to check max read/write speed? Here is the output from lspci. Do you see anything strange?

monty33,

This is great news!! A world stage for the NHLs best players can only help the NHL. I have non-hockey fan friends that will bring up US losing to Canada with Crosby’s goal and even Oshies crazy shootout game

monty33,

I don’t think that’s true that they are all free agents after this season. Is it?

monty33,

Sorry I can’t help with your question, but I wanted to ask what features you feel Jellyfin is missing that is keeping you on Plex? I’ve made the switch, and actually like Jellyfin better.

monty33,

If you’re referring to Chromecast with Google tv, than there is absolutely an app! Give it another shot!

monty33,

What do you mean by that? How does one make it slow?

monty33,

Wow this is incredible, and I will be making the switch! This was the only unavailable feature that I couldn’t go without.

Sorry if this is covered somewhere but I couldn't find it! I need recommendations on a good starter NAS

Title says pretty much all there is. Im just getting started in this and don’t want to go too crazy. Im willing to go as high as $250 right now which, when i look around, i know isn’t gonna get me anything absolutely amazing but hey back off im an instacart driver lol

monty33,

Just went through this myself and settled on DIY build. Someone recommended this video, and I followed it very closely. The built was so easy and less expensive than off the shelf. I installed TrueNAS on it and couldn’t be happier.

monty33,

Can someone remind me of where I can go to send some $$$ to aeharding? Posting here to both get an answer and help others find the link.

monty33,

If you have a device such as a raspberry pi, you could install zwavetomqtt on there and as long as you can connect that to your mqtt server in home assistant then you can add those devices via mqtt
