Just finished catching up on Giro d'Italia stage 15, and my legs are now vicariously in pain 🚲🏔😰😅

Average speed on his stage was apparently 36kph!! Uphill! Over 220km! 😵

Finally got to see Audra McDonald sing live today!! 🎶🤩

Only 25+ years after I first heard her revelatory Carry Pipperidge on the cast album for the 1994 Broadway revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel 😍

I might have nearly burst into tears when she opened with "I Am What I Am" (La Cage aux Folles) & "Mister Snow" (Carousel) 😅

Annd anyway, this concert & Audra were everything that I wanted today 😌

But Tatiana Troyanos's Santuzza in the 1978 MET staging is very much worth a watch anyway ❤
She is completely luminous in this production 😯
(insofar as one can be luminous as the 'abandoned' woman in a verismo opera staged by Zeffirelli!)

🎶🎻 Got to see Anne-Sophie Mutter play live with
the Sydney Symphony Orchestra a couple weeks ago!
But didn't manage to post about it until now.. 😅

This was my 2nd time seeing ASM in person (having previously seen her play the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto), and she was a-maaazing! as could be expected 🤩

The programme included, among other pieces:

• John Williams Violin Concerto
• "Hedwig's Theme" from the 1st Harry Potter film
• The Schindler's List theme (one of several encores)
