I forget the hashtag for making a movie/show title more techy, but I have two more:

  1. A Vue to a Kill (1985)

  2. No Silver Bullet (1985)

  3. && || (2022)

@benjaminhollon last one's for you.

Here's a Life Pro Tip I've followed for the past fifteen years or so: when you meet someone, and you think of some wordplay based on their name, try not to say it out loud. Statistically, it's unlikely you're the first person to think of it, and this person has probably been pestered with that joke for a long time.

I enjoy doing wordplay in my head a lot, so this tip has helped prevent it from getting the better of me.

I'm going to throw this out here: anyone know how to vectorize the image in the center of this book cover? DM me and we can talk about prices.

Reddit, I haven't even given you my username yet, how could you know if I have 2FA or not? (I'm guessing this is a Lynx issue)

I've watched four seasons of so far. It feels like the story is pretty much told at this point, so I have to ask: is the last season worth it? Does the story continue in some unexpected ways?

Anyone have issues with VLC not playing any DVDs? I assume this has to do with DRM, but search results on the topic are limited.

I do like using Mutt. Plain text email is so nice. While it is tempting to use the 80-character rule for emails in Mutt, this cause formatting problems. If the email recipient is on a smartphone, that 80-column paragraph will look all jumbled. Play it safe, keep paragraphs on one big ol' line

I moved over to GitLab last year, now they're touting their AI-powered capabilities. Any GitLab users here, or has Codeberg's hour come at last?

I didn't leave enough space on the root partition when I installed my OS. Now I don't have enough space to install the Guix package manager, so I can't install IceCat.

Here's something neat about the ::initial-letter pseudoselector in CSS: it will automatically account for quotation marks before the first letter. This means that if one is using initial-letter for dropcaps, no additional styling rules are needed for paragraphs starting with a quote.

For me, SEO means including a <meta name="keywords"> tag and a <meta name="description"> tag in the head of my HTML document. Is there more to it than that?

I bought an RCA-to-coax adapter today and tried it on my Timex Sinclair 1000. I saw the 8-Bit Guy use it in his video on the computer. It didn't work for me, I still have to use the VHF converter box that came with the T/S 1000.

The next version of Nantucket E-Books will produce--dare I say--clean HTML! The parsing program will add line breaks and spaces (not tabs) to make the raw HTML more readable.

I found a zine at my hometown flea market this week called Payphone Calls From the Road. Their website is supposed to be payphonecallsmagazine.com, but alas, it doesn't appear to be in use. I liked the story in this issue.

This is one of those zines printed on a single sheet of paper, and then cut-and-folded into a small six-page booklet (eight pages if you count the front and back).

Went into a cell carrier store today. I asked about buying a phone outright, and he looked at me like I had three heads. Apparently they don't sell phones outright there. \(*~*)/

A big announcement from Nantucket E-Books. On October 20, I will be publishing a new novel by Seth Patterson. It's called The Woethief, and it's the best fantasy novel you'll read this year. Read about it in my latest blog post: https://nantucketebooks.com/blog/2023/10/2023-10-01_introducing_the_year%E2%80%99s_best_fantasy_novel.html
