it raises a tricky question: how do we balance fitting in with those around us (not being an asshole or living as a hermit) with knowing when to leave an in-group that has become too toxic?

actually, that's two questions. one is the philosophical question of how we should make those choices, and the other is the psychological question of how we do that right now

The question seems pretty simple to me. its very easy to not launch rockets with dead people to the moon. we've been doing it for all of human history. why not keep doing it out of respect of other cultures?
