Opened another 500 TestFlight slots for the new Reeder preview (see previous posts). There's still a lot to do but it's slowly getting to a usable state.
@rizzi Just confirming: the plan is to eventually re-add Feedbin support, yeah? I’m somewhat locked out until that happens but I’m gonna throw some every day feeds in there and take it for a spin.
I have been on this work project long enough that the answer to “who wrote this brittle code” is almost always me. Brought to you by “I think this is a one line bug fix but I need a test and OMFG who wrote this brittle and coupled code?!?”
@grmpyprogrammer there was a 4 line block of code at a previous job that literally took a team of 4 of us an entire week to fully unpack and comprehend. We put it back with tons of comments and documentation.
A year later, I wade back in to add an enhancement and go “wow, who the fuck wrote this documentation? It’s trash!”
Lots of people (including Apple) put full-color icons on each top-level row in Settings these days.
I'm experimenting with using monochrome SF Symbols there. I may not ship it this way, but it's kinda fun, and it lets me use the same icons that are used for the corresponding features throughout the rest of the app.
Maybe that improves consistency and understanding, especially since I don't currently have localized strings.
I know the engineering is probably a nightmare & the market minimal... but how has nobody made a great, low-profile, crush-proof sunglasses case/sleeve?
If you’ve found your /now page nudging you a little too hard over the past few hours, please accept my sincerest apologies! I made a small update last night that aimed to improve the process, but, well, I think it had the opposite effect in a few cases.
@bjhess My wife got on the Wolves bandwagon last year. We were stoked that they knocked off the Nuggets, and were excited about the prospect of a house divided finals (I’m a Celtics fan).
I replaced my Mac Studio with a MacBook Pro over a year ago, but I still sometimes come out to my studio, sit down, and tap the spacebar, just to realized my laptop is sitting on a table in the house. It breaks my brain every time.
@kyle@starling id want to be on my own setup as the default, mostly so it plays nice at all times with my monitors, and any work changes would be a process shift vs a setup change.
@christianselig the path from “software developer” to “hmm I need a new <thing>” to “hey all I just launched Quibbitz, a new <thing> maker” is a straight line
