Title: The Haskell School of Music: from signals to symphonies.
Author: Paul Hudak and Donya Quick
Year: 2018

Stoked to see if I can move past my fixation with pi calculus/csp. Found this via the wiki. I loved school of expression so I am very excited!

Orange site is funny, on the topic of the Ideal :

"> It would be something like a fusion of Clojure and Common Lisp, (...)

Mine would be, too. Unfortunately, that's not possible. Clojure is one of those few languages actually designed by somebody who knows what they are doing."

So .. the Lisp Machine folks, the Common Lisp people, Maclisp .. etc had no clue what they where doing.

Oh yeah .. Clojure isn't a Lisp, now bite me.

@amszmidt what I will say is that lisp is an alien space craft. With clojure that craft is trapped inside of a pyramid(jvm) and large as it may be you still bump into the sides and find yourself wondering what it would be like without the boundaries. I am a huge fan of clojure but I know in my heart that Common Lisp is my true religion.

Fuck that jacobin article on . Designing Freedom has more to say than anything they’ve ever written! I’m taking it personally because I give a fuck.

Jacobin article about cybernetics was sort of disappointing, they totally missed the point and condemned the entire discipline because it was funded by the US military back in the day. Also putting it in the context of a whole issue about AI doesn't make sense because Project Cybersyn didn't involved anything like AI, it was just about facilitating communication between people. IDK I almost want to write a longer thing about this but I don't want to actually write a response to Jacobin lol

@sidereal what a yikes. How exactly do they think a post-authoritarian state would work? Oh that’s right they don’t really want post-authoritarian because once they are the authoritarians it will work.. this time… finally the good hierarchy at last! Wake me up when situationism is cool again.

The primary function of the spectacle is to integrate all forms of resistance through synthetic commodification. It’s brutal because the actual process of synthesis is beautiful. In fact if you are to label something as synthetic today it means “fake” or “artificial”. This is how you go from “no spiritual surrender” in the underground to “fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” on the radio in under a decade.

Mixfix operator precidence IS a form of (arbitrary) hierarchy. are like “oh yeah BIDMAS is cool but how about just B. Just B? Yep that’s all we need!” This is perfection.

Really useful episode of from @Eceni which is really helping with my thinking about localising food production. Recommended.

I'm wondering what bean I could most productively grow at field scale here in Scotland?

Sadly I must retire from . I really wanted to get to level 200 (I am stuck at 197) but I have to listen to my body. My thumb hurts after a few rounds now and continues on to the next day. Hopefully I can get a cybernetic one eventually but until then I am done. Or I become proficient with foot pedals!?

Trying to normalize referring to any left bracket as lun and right bracket as ula prefixed by type so r for round, s for square, c for curly, a for angle. Which opens up the space for this question: what other types are there?

is so important in a sense. Brutalist does not just mean stripped down it also means built up but only in ways in which function determines form. In Self there is a mandate for things to be animated so they don’t just transport or blink into existence. When I use I think about this a lot because of how much it violates this principle (yeah yeah it’s meant to work as a tui at cli. I don’t care about excuses. I only care about attenuation).
