nilloc,

They’d be willing to pretend if they had to, but now there’s no need.

Unless a super majority were to get elected to congress, that could either impeach them or at least pass laws governing their emoluments and conflicts of interest.

nilloc,

The irony of us liberals relying on the fucking fbi to do the right thing is painful to watch.

There has been a sliver of schandenfreud as the insurrectionists get arrested and right turns on the fbi though. But I still can’t trust them.

nilloc,

Now do natural gas methane leaks.

nilloc,

You were right without the /s. Descrutum will try anyway if it will put his shitty state in the news. Even if it’s just another frivolous lawsuit.

nilloc,

I agree about the meat and dairy infrastructures. And grain production to, which basically turns diesel fuel into junk-food.

But the leaks from natural gas methane delivery, production and use are much easier to stop though, and would help the supposed greenhouse savings from switching to gas over coal.

nilloc,

It’s probably all those missing top secret files. But Trumps judge is never gonna let that see the light of day.

nilloc,

No, their “news” outlets just don’t cover it. They keep busy with fear lingering about anti-woke, cancel cultures, and Chinese immigrants in the Darian gap.

nilloc,

Did you see what he’s painting? The shirts kinda tame by comparison.

nilloc,

Doesn’t matter why in this analogy. Meeting in the middle between 0 and X innocent deaths, is still going to leave more than 0 innocent deaths. Which should be unacceptable to all non-sociopaths.

It’s illustrating the fallacy of assuming there is always a compromise in an argument. Sometimes there are, but not with Nazis or any intolerant groups, with the exception of intolerance of the intolerant, which is necessary to keep a society tolerant.

nilloc,

The same way that they say: migrant workers are lazy welfare queens who are simultaneously taking all our jobs.

And the moderate or liberal ones are seeing that even though the income taxes aren’t there, that property taxes have to be astronomical to make up for it. So that relatively cheap McMansion 1:45 from Dallas, is gonna end up costing double after 20 years of taxes.

Then leaving.

nilloc,

Darth Marge has never closed those windows.

nilloc,

This guy’s trying to Berkenstein us.

nilloc,

I agree about trailers, but one full of sand will weigh too much for most American SUVs/CUVs let alone sedans.

I’m pretty sure cars and non trucks are vastly underrated for towing in the US though, since the same cars in Europe often have 50%+ towing capacities. The excuse is always that our highway speeds are higher, but I suspect maintaining high truck sales has more to do with it.

nilloc,

Common with karting. Getting thrown off is the plan if it rolls. Wearing motorcycle leather or a tough race suit is also part of the safety.

And also only doing it on a track!

I’d be most worried about the wheels and tires that don’t look prepared for any kind of side loading.

nilloc,

These were done before photoshop though.

Also writing backwards, or upside down isn’t that hard with a little practice, especially if you’re decent at drawing.

My wife couldn’t believe how fast I could write backwards on a window, when she first saw it. But I’m also a slightly dyslexic, lefty, who can write backwards with my right hand and has a bachelor of fine art in design…

The Sinclair C5 is pretty much the same idea and from the 80s.

But not enclosed.

nilloc,

Entrepreneurial ego plays a part I think. Unless they already found 60 people that want them for this price.

Developing an agile enough process and factory to make things like this might be an interesting business model. Probably way Too low profit to attract investors though.

nilloc,

Wheel motors powerful enough to drive a full size vehicle will result in a. Lot of unsprung weight.

The Rivian trucks and SUVs also have available quad motor (which is how it can do those tank turns on loose surfaces). It uses drive axles with CV joints like modern independent suspensions in conventional cars use. Stupid expensive though, $80,000 plus last time I looked.

nilloc,

Rivian trucks have optional ones too, it’s how they can do tank turns.

I think there was a Mercedes as well, but I’m not sure if it made it to production.

That island is a weird mix of Disney style tourism, and a rich ® people retreat.

We used to go up and ride tandems around the island in the 80s. The fudge was pretty special at the time too. Worth the constant avoidance of horse shit everywhere on the main drag.

Now the chocolate (Kilwins) is available at most vacation spots east of the Mississippi, and even Texas for some reason, and the road around the island is constantly getting washed out because of the Great Lakes flooding, from the climate disaster that probably 85% of the islands land owners deny exists.

There’s even a ridiculous giant gold Gerald Ford head up there near the scout camp, you know, the guy who pardoned Nixon.

I went back with my son a couple years ago, and decided that was probably the last visit for us. Other places in northern MI are much more beautiful and nicer to visit.

nilloc,

Was rich do-gooders.

Then tech bros.

Now Elon-a-bes.

If any of the first 2 owners want to get rid of theirs’ cheaply, I’d be happy to take it and rip the batteries and drivetrain out for making cool cars EVs.

Hit me up.

nilloc,

And apples, naval oranges, corn (especially gmo).

nilloc,

+1 for farm shares, except they’ve mostly closed and sold off their land to developers in my neck of the woods. Getting into the remaining ones has proved difficult.

Also we have a nutty growing season that means it’s mostly root veggies for 8months of the year.

We still want to support local ag, but it ain’t easy in a cold state with aging population.
