@og What do yu mean with customization? griptape art? sticker jobs?

@og Dificult to change the deck width, unless you want to make it thinner and have access to a good saw... :)
Everything in is a matter pf personal choice, and what might work for me might not work for others.
I like big wheels, 56 to 59mm, and wide boards and trucks. Currently riding Ace trucks after mostly riding Independent for the last 30 years.
For starters I recommend soft or medium wheels (95A or 97A), they are more forgiving when riding over peebles and other crap

@og If you want to geek out about skateboarding sizes, wheelbase, etc. there's a great podcast with Dr. Schmitt, one of the best, if not the best, skateboard designer/builder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18MRZq0bhpE
During the 4 hours of the podcast, they reference this chart about wheelbase size in regarsd to height. It's a good starting point, but myself, I feel more comfortable and skate better on a board slightly bigger than what is recommended in it

@og Then of course you can get into chaging the standard truck bushings to some aftermarket ones ike Bones, Doh-Doh's, etc.. and get into the different classes of bearings rabbithole...
Any good skateshop can advice you better than random dudes online :)

When I bought skateboard parts for my 9yo daughter, the store threw in a skateboarding mag for free into the delivery. She had a flick through and threw it away. I had a look - not a single photo of a woman skating. In this, the year of our lord 2023. Representation matters.

I will be submitting appropriate feedback.

@feijoa If you can find it Dolores magazine, you should get it for your daughter. Great woman skateboarding mag from Spain:
