So I’ve spent about a week embedded with my niece and her family (a five-year-old, am 18-month-old and a six-week-old) and I’ve adapted pretty well but wow. It’s full on as they say here in Australia. Luckily the six-week-old loves to fall asleep in my arms. It’s going to seem so sedate in my house when I’m back home.

To all of you whose wonderful, kind, compassionate words and support have been so helpful, I have sad news: Father In Law passed away. Mr. Laffy just called in tears, but there was a small silver lining… FIL got his final wish and died peacefully in his sleep. That was so comforting for all of us. I can never thank you guys enough for your consistent caring and empathy. You’ve been beyond amazing. ❤️💔 #gratitude

At our snack break, some of the hikers espoused a striking-workers-are-trying-to-make-things-worse-for-consumers viewpoint regarding the auto workers but when we shifted focus on to CEO pay they simmered down.
