Big Journalism's timidity is never more obvious than when, confronted with a blatant lie from a (usually Republican) politician, the news org then frames the lie as a mere mistake.

Example today from ABC News -- headline:

Thank you for gifting this article. It's columns like this that led me to cancel my #WashingtonPost subscription.

I teach my students the importance of anticipating the counter-argument. In this case, there is no argument after this counter-argument because women are dying because of this vote to take away the right to an #abortion.

Simona Kossak (1943-2007) Polish biologist, ecologist, author, PhD in forestry, conservation activist.
