@darth@penguingeek Yeah, it's the not printing part that worries me! Ha! But it's also a scanner that we use a LOT for record keeping, so it really has to work. Fingers crossed.
@penguingeek oh no, I wasn't serious. I'm just joking about how everyone says he's an alien combined with the fact that everyone says AI art looks ugly and messes things up. So the joke was, that even though he's missing fingers on one hand, has extra fingers on the other, and his eyes are different colors and shapes, he still looks more human than he doesn IRL.
@penguingeek@popey@freechelmi since I am on a distro so stable that is often refered to as obsolete it is somewhat expected that I use Snaps and Flatpaks, but also AppImages. Usually for desktop apps I chose between Snap and Flatpak depending on which one did app developer chose to support directly. For example Skype Flatpak package is up to date but it’s completely broken, unusable. When I am just testing something I can do AppImage…
@penguingeek@popey@freechelmi some software is not good being packaged with any of those three. I prefer Emacs Bookworm backport instead. My biggest Snap complaint was app startup speed, but that was fixed a gouple of years ago and most apps have migrated to the “fast” format by now.
