Mac users often tell me that 8GB of Mac RAM equals 16GB of PC RAM.

@dragmine149 Linux is pretty good at making decisions regarding what to copy/move to a swap memory, and considering it’s NVMe nowadays we really don’t need much for regular tasks. I do like to have more, though, simply because PC RAM is affordable while Mac RAM costs a kidney.

@RemeJuan note that they said “PC”, and not “Windows” 😂

developers will be creating a new in-game cape design based on the review bombing graph. This is absolutely awesome! :giga_chad:

@TacticalGrace_ I remember how PC gamers reacted when Microsoft tried to force an online gaming paywall on them. They have become much stronger since then. I hope we all find the strength to fight against unnecessary online DRM for single player games too.

Whenever I am on my bike (see my previous post) and having negative thoughts, such as my bike ride being physically exhausting for me (I often have heart arrhythmia), I think of @ruari having only one wheel :elmofire: and my bike ride instantly becomes effortless.

I was about to warm up my programming chair and work on my video game, but a friend called to tell me that it is sunny outside and we should ride bikes.

I suppose my video game will have to wait.

Believe it or not, on Discord their community manager has said that they are in talks with to change their mind. He made no promises, he is just being transparent on what the dev team is doing to make players happy.

So my current poll results are wrong :kekw2:

So what do you think will happen with 2 next? (Steam satisfaction score is only 38% now)

  • gamers will bend the knee and give up complaining
  • will bend the knee and reconsider what PC gamers don’t want
  • neither. The game will slowly die.

darth,
@darth@silversword.online avatar

@tiniest_war Sony’s official answer to your question is “because of safety and security”. My personal opinion is that Sony wants to boost PSN account numbers so they can demonstrate live service growth to shareholders. Pick one or add a second opinion, it doesn’t change the fact that these developers did not deserve to be in this position. They worked their asses off to produce a great game and are now punished for that because their publisher made the wrong decision.

darth,
@darth@silversword.online avatar

@tiniest_war it is available on PS but it’s more like a game that fits PC gamers.

4 works like shit on , however it works flawlessly smooth on . I am amazed at how smooth it is.

darth,
@darth@silversword.online avatar

@bekopharm can you share more info? Radeon or GeForce? X11 or Wayland? I am guessing it worked smooth 60 fps for you or it didn’t but you didn’t care? If it was smooth, which Steam launch options did you use? If not from Steam then how did you launch it?

Note: I got it working properly in the end, but via Gamescope.

Xbox is gonna try to back compat the whole industry!

Xbox plans to tackle game preservation - Desk Chair Analysts

darth,
@darth@silversword.online avatar

@majorlinux So far, Xbox has been the best console type of gaming device for having backwards compatibility furthest back + meaningful visual and performance enhancements. GOG, on PC, is doing their part in making old games "just work" on the latest Windows. And on the Linux side, we have Proton which, quite frankly, often feels like magic for games that no longer work on Windows at all.

I am a gamer from the age of the Amiga computer and I love those games.
