I’d like to try it out one day, for now I don’t think I want to do that kind of investment in my setup. It sounds glorious though to have so many monitors.
This is why we need more public transport everywhere in the world. Get idiots off the street, but enable them to go to the doctor, school, work, and everything else, so we have less idiots in the future.
As funny as it is, I also feel bad for the guy. This illustrates perfectly why we need a good public transport, to prevent people who don’t have what it takes to drive off the road, while not preventing them from visiting their doctors.
He’s an idiot, true, and shouldn’t drive at least until a fair assessment says otherwise. I was saying that there should be a better, less costly, and safe transportation for people who can’t or don’t want to drive to get around.
I’m from a third world country in the global South, of course I don’t support any destruction. How is saying nuking a region a support to stop destruction?
Also: I wasn’t accusing them of being a bot, but I can’t imagine anyone not being paid or manipulated to support nuking Europe as if it’s a good idea.
They asked you if you’re not racist, as if it’s normal to be racist??
It’s sad to see how people get manipulated to the point that they can’t understand that even a natural population growth without immigration can cause a housing crisis, if we don’t build and maintain the houses. And immigrants come to work anyway, which provides a disproportionately high value to the economy compared to what most of them are paid.
Yes true, my perception is biased to a local housing problem where younger people can’t afford apartments while old rich people own so many.
Regardless, it’s still sad that immigrants are being blamed. Even urbanisation means that they’re citizens of that country, and they caused the problem themselves.
The experimental mat has been out for about a week now, but extremely high winds during a storm last night pulled up a corner of the mat spilling out the contents....
It’s because “打火機” is a noun, direct translation would be “the fire striking machine” which means the lighter. So the sentence is a shorthand to ask whether they have a lighter.
There are places where natural gas is used for heating and cooking by combustion. These tasks can also be done with electricity for the power source and then we’ll be overall cleaner. However the transition is a massive task and requires a lot of convincing (e.g. that cooking with induction is as good or better even than gas, heat pump costs less in the long run).
It boils down to political will to efficiently fund the transition. We can let planes fly - no simple solution to that. Put subsidies for green steel - currently costlier, not many companies will adopt too soon Build more public transport - fuck dem cars Enable remote work Invest in farmers to make the transition to electric tractors, then cut out gas subsidies
These are doable today, the funds should come easily if we don’t let billionaires get away without paying taxes. Side note: 1 billion is a tremendous amount of money, but the top billionaires are worth 200 billions!!!
That is also true. In production perspective there’s no sense to keep a small production quantity alive just for a limited application. Then we’ll arrive at the conclusion that governments need to be able to regulate businesses with objective policies - not affected by industry lobbying. But that would need a very robust system of governance where the people cannot be bought out, ideally.
That’s why in my view the key here is the policy - where to subsidize and not, where to tax and stop issuing permits, taking EOL pumps accountable etc.
This year I went scuba diving for the first time! Also, I did my first job switch, been good so far but I constantly doubt my abilities. Also first time daily driving linux recently 😉
I work hard but my new company seems to respect work life balance so far. So far I’ve been working more on the tip of the screw, but it depends on the goal of the project. Almost all of the features of the screw can be modified to meet the needs. A big part of the work is to verify that a change or innovation can be produced at a good quality level.
