phoenixz,

Why, instead of lowering CO2, do we keep increasing the soeaf of increase of pumping CO2 in the atmosphere?

We were worried that climate change would be a life ending problem for our kids, but at this speed it’s going to be a life ending problem for us, and still nobody gives a shit.

phoenixz,

That won’t happen, CO2 and warming has been much, MUCH higher than it is now or probably will ever be.

What will happen is that loads of animals will die because they won’t be able to adapt quick enough. Thought that we had many extinctions now? Try a hundred times more.

What will happen is mass crop failures due to extreme weather, and water shortages. Humans being the assholes that the are will not focus on an actual solution, they’ll just start wars over the scarce resources to make it even worse.

Humanity actually might go extinct if we let it ge tbad enough.

There are still many people out there claiming it’s all fake. Can we please just make them extinct?

phoenixz,

Why do you want trump to win? Do you really like Trump that much?

phoenixz,

For communist countries, because they are.

phoenixz,

At this point I looks to replace systemd with vim. Anything better than systemd mess

phoenixz,

By hitting bullseye ojnthe one place where you shouldn’t

phoenixz,

Do I dare to ask what you mean? Tankies?

phoenixz,

Yeah this comment is flagrantly ignoring the fact that Russia is an agressor that is invading a country and committing genocide and threatening nuclear war.

phoenixz,

I’d recommend installing kde neon. KDE is a user interface that looks a bit more like windows, it should be an easy transition. KDE Neon runs most of the latest versions, should have the best support whilst being easy to install.

Most of the software you manage should work, for those that might be problematic, you might be able to find alternatives, see alternativeto.net

phoenixz,

And France is Islamophobic because…?

phoenixz,

The solution is -besides regulations for that - have governments push for much MUCH more bicycle roads and same for public transportation. With great public transportation and bicycle roads, most people won’t need cars to begin with.

phoenixz,

Not sure if sarcasm or not, but after following quite a few (yes, YouTube) lawyers on this subject, I think it’s fair to say that a lot of it actually is that; Trump is a slippery bastard and getting him convicted is hard. last thing you want is to convict him, have fox news pull the “they made a mistake” cars, and actually be right. Once trump goes to jail, you better be sure he stays there.

phoenixz,

That sounds like your average Republican, like literally.

phoenixz,

HI WINNIE POOH! How have you been, have you had your daily dose of honey yet?

phoenixz,

Should you though?

I get it, it’s annoying, but the entire “let’s block people with opinions I don’t like” is probably the single source of pillerization and increased extremism on the internet.

If I’m not allowed to have a discussion or disagreement with you, and get kicked out instead, I’ll just go to places where they will talk with me and where it’s chock full of other idiots like me who are much more extreme and in our safety bubble we can all continue not beat the same dead horse and circle jerk and make eachother more extreme because there are no dissenting voices, there are no voices or reason and calm, there are no cooler heads around.

This entire moderation where we simply started dumping people with who we disagree has made the world a.much, much worse place.

Granted, it sucks to have to deal with crazies and extremists, but at least whilst they’re in the group we can all keep them grounded in reality.

phoenixz,

Shot him in the knee, he’ll never walk normal again…sounds super reasonable

phoenixz,

Cars will be needed, period

Having said that, 90something percent of car rides are under 5 kms and can be done by bike IF good biking infrastructure is available

We MUST redesign cities to become humans first, walking and biking must be easy, smaller cars can enter to destination, smaller trucks can enter to supply stores, and that’s it. If you design cites for people and bikes, people will use it. Add good public transportation, and you’re golden.

Right now in 99% of the cities in the world, using bikes is suicidal, walking anywhere beyond a parking lot is suicidal. We gotta change that part.

Most people will stop using expensive cars if they can bike everywhere, or use good regular public transportation for longer trips.

phoenixz,

Yeah I think the implication now that they will try and murder them. Thinly veiled threats

The US apparently already put a law in place that if a US soldier is ever tried by the ICC that they would invade the Netherlands and liberate him by force.

We want to be able to commit war crimes and behave like absolute monsters, and we want the same for our friends.

phoenixz,

Seriously, can we push back rules separating state and church? You can’t work for the government if you believe in Santa claus, sorry. Same goes for Allah, god, Jehova, shiva, or any other of the make belief friends.

phoenixz,

Apparently there is no life in Mexico

phoenixz,

I seriously hope they all get cancer themselves, just for the irony and to watch them claim they are still standing by their decision to die a gruesome death

phoenixz,

It would only work if you manage to keep the car at an extremely precise distance from the car in front. If you’re off by tiny tiny amounts, you’ll either lose the magnetic attraction, and stop, or you’d started getting closer fast until you’d be stuck to the car in front of you

phoenixz,

Nah, they get that. They also get that most Democrats aren’t outright evil or of the “god made me do it” type, as they are.

phoenixz,

Part of the reason that courts are so lenient with him is to avoid that, once he is judged, that there is any space for anyone to claim a mistrial or that he was mis treated. It’s unfortunate z but that’s the way the justice system works, and trump abuses that to the max.

That is why the judge explicitly says “I don’t want to jail you” just so that it’s said that he can, but won’t. Yet. Now that trump has been ordered to pay, it’s only a few thousand dollars, but again, that’s the law. Judges can’t just change that on their own whims.

So next up, if Trump blabs again, which he will, he will go to jail. I read something about the secret service already trying to figure out how to protect trump in jail, because that’s their responsibility, wherever the idiot is, so let’s just say that the next step may blvery we’ll be quite funny.

Having said that: I am happy they are taking their time and are being very careful, last thing you want is an exonorated trump because of some procedural error or because trump indeed was not tried fairly.
