    OK so what if when we serialized actions, we treated an actor's URI as a prefix in the JSON-LD context, and treated hashtags as if they were linked data entities underneath BOTH the actor and instance prefix. so effectively someone can make their own linked data vocabulary as a natural part of Posting.

    then say we make some modest interface for declaring relationships between terms. this is a common problem - everyone has to agree to use one hashtag for it to be useful, but it should also be possible to both retroactively and proactively say "when people say this set of hashtags, i will interpret as being the same as or related to this one that I use." say we make an interface to SKOS to make these statements as part of the RDF graph beneath our activitypub actor.

    then say we have some modest interface or syntax extensions to be able to use some terms as predicates along with objects. See eg. how masto did some kind things to make hashtag usage less obtrusive. one could imagine doing something similar like being able to cite some URL, or add additional opinionated metadata like if you routinely post about some topic and want to say this post is part of that cluster of thoughts, or is a particular extension of them, and so on. treat the post as the default subject of the triple, so you have user:post user:hashtag user:hashtag . or user:post user:hashtag url . triples.

    so i can tend my garden of things i care about along with the rest of y'all. as we talk about things we can decide how they relate to one another. dealing with actual practical problems with the current fedi while opening space for something new. idk quick idea

    @jonny I'm not a data analytics guy, and machines & language are decidededly out of my wheelhouse. SKOS is kinda the dictionary here, if I'm reading what you're saying correctly; mapping tag to tag via semantic relations. I think what I was specifically thinking was the high volume of neonymy on the tootstream, as well as the diversity as the conversations fork.
