This is genuinely an important question, the open web is certainly worth saving, and I for one do think about how every task I take on might contribute to or reverse those problems. I assume we need more compassionate people at big corps, not less.

The problems no amount of compassion seem to be able to assuage include the way the entire system is corrupt and the way all our taxes are used to support an empire that turns a blind eye to poverty and supports genocide.

Random things I do not know about our solar system.

  • Are the planets spinning round the sun in the same direction?
  • Are all the planets spinning around the same line of the sun, equivalent to the equator on earth. Or is that just convenient for illustration?
  • Does the Asteroid belt imply just that? Meaning it does not surround the entire solar system or is it a belt of finite height.

I was looking at implementing with a while back, and I admittedly struggled and lost my enthusiasm for the project. However, I have found @mapache explanations and tutorials incredibly helpful and intuitive.

I am following his guide here: https://maho.dev/2024/02/a-guide-to-implement-activitypub-in-a-static-site-or-any-website/

DasBlog is not static so some of this does not apply, but enough does, and for the rest I can easily overlap gaps with the rich blogging engine. I am currently on step 5, this is happening!

Has anyone implemented Activity Pub with ASP.NET Core?

Not just types and objects but something that could be used for basic federation.

This is an absolutely insane policy. I am hopeful that the legal challenges will eventually correct this.

Sanjay Puri Architects has completed a spiral community center.

"Taking a cue from traditional Indian courtyards and sand dunes simultaneously, the built space swirls from the ground level to a nine-metre height, creating a semi-sheltered open amphitheatre & allowing the roof to be accessible as a garden space,"

I was terrible at chemistry coming out of school.
But I just randomly saw a YouTube video of someone doing molar calculations and decided to see if it made more sense now.

It is totally intuitive! I sadly remember when I first started that course that it felt like it would never make sense.

While I understand the comedic intent, and the wonderful paradox of this whole scene in Back to the Future. I also cannot help but see it as a nearly perfect metaphor for stealing music from black people, and then presenting it to a mostly white audience as original. 🙃

Roku hackers breach 15,000 accounts and are selling them online:

"If the account had stored credit card info, hackers could also purchase subscriptions within Roku for services such as Netflix, Max, Paramount Plus, Hulu, Peacock, Disney Plus, and others. Bleeping Computer also found that hackers are selling the stolen information for around 50 cents per account on a hacking marketplace."
