@BreoganHackett @LadyStrawberries I don't get this argument because if someone wanted to be intentionally malicious they have access to things such as replies, quotes and other stuff to use for that goal. I do not like the argument of "people will not be nice with it so we are going to not add this feature" because that is how we ended up with mastodon not supporting quotes.

@LadyStrawberries @BreoganHackett yea. if you really wanted to be abusive you could just write text posts mentioning the other person there are so many ways to "abuse" a platform like this I do not see the benefit of reducing feature set to counteract abuse when we have mod tools to stop that sort of behavior

@cute_stuff isn't this how most captcha services work? whether hcaptcha, recaptcha? they are loaded in each page in order to "monitor" your behavior before going to the next. it's dystopian but this isn't exactly new to me.
