The worst thing you can do if you want to be an ally is argue with us about semantics. Genuinely, because not only do you not know what it’s like but you’re being extremely dismissive of our experiences and our feelings. Talking over us, arguing with us about things is just not the way to show your support. You can ask questions, but be respectful. I’ve seen too many "allies" ask questions before trying to use the answers to contradict us. Even if you have the best of intentions saying things like "well are you sure that’s the real you?" is extremely disrespectful towards us. We’ve spent quite a lot of time pondering and exploring before being publicly queer, of course we are sure. Casting doubt on whether we are truly what we say we are is the easiest way to get us to not want you in our spaces. Asking us to speak on extremely triggering or heated political questions is not the way to go either. We understand you’re curious but don’t put us on the spot by asking things like "well how do you feel about transgender people in sports?". I’m sure there’s people who’d be willing to answer that for you but most of us would be uncomfortable especially being put on the spot like that publicly

Someone has asked me that before, I usually start them off with half a paragraph describing how idiotic and oblivious or malicious you must be to believe this is a real issue and bring it up and that it’s just obfuscation for bigotry, then I go into a full thing disproving a lot of the common points, then I hit them with the “you were lied to and manipulated”

This usually works with most people, even liberals, about most topics that I’m informed about

But this is because I shamefully had debate bro brain worms in the past, so I can type up a few page essay making an argument for literally anything I know about in 20 minutes or half an hour

@puppygirlhornypost it’s not even that, the simple fact is that after a few years of hrt there literally isn’t an advantage, in fact most cis woman athletes typically have much higher testosterone levels compared to trans women, and many cis women, especially one’s black and African in heritage, get excluded for having testosterone levels that are naturally too high, not to mention intersex people (which also fall into this category a lot of the time)

But this is all assuming an actually sound reasoning and argument, attacking the “why do you care, don’t you think the people running the sports know better than you?” Works better, especially if the person you’re talking to is even a little reasonable you can then quickly start pointing out the people spreading this stuff and their motivations, compare it to people “just asking questions” about black crime statistics, since it’s a similar tactic, this is a better approach because you don’t concede the framing, which is the only way that argument can hold any water (you need to dispel the idea that this is something that needs to be talked about and is in any way important)

why gpu passthrough isnt worth it: (8 minute long video)

  1. anti-cheat will catch you
  2. you need two GPUs
  3. performance decrease of about 10-20%

okay, i used GPU passthrough for about 3-4 years

  1. there are ways to hide youre in a VM. and the vast majority of non-competitive games dont care anyways

  2. no you dont. theres a script you can run that'll unbind the tty from the GPU and reset it before you boot your VM. yah, you wont be getting your linux display back until you full restart your system, but on a server with SSH thats fine anyways

  3. the only valid point on this 8 minute video. i switched to bare metal cuz i was losing about 70% performance with my new GPU for some reason and i couldn't figure out why. perhaps if i kept at it, i could've solved it, but... i wanted to play video games at that point
