Today's ride will start with climbing a hill... Well it's got hill in the name. When I wrote about it in commentary about a bike race, I described it as having delusions of adequacy... Still it shows as a lovely bump on the Strava log afterwards...

Due to the joined up, integrated nature of the Dutch rail timetable. I arrived at Utrecht just in time to watch the train I wanted to change to depart from across the platform... A simple cross platform interchange opportunity completely unavailable due to shit timetabling.

So now I wait 30 mins for the next train...

Among all the other reasons I am annoyed by this Spanish flight ban stuff is this share pic from the Swiss news portal Watson that keeps popping up on social media…

it shows a Renfe DIESEL train running under an electric wire as the alternative 🤨 (it's a Renfe 334 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renfe_Class_334 )

(I don't even think the stats are true in the graphic either)

@jon what's also completely ignored is that you can also take a bigger variety of items on a plane (as checked luggage) than on a Spanish HS train. The Spanish HS train security makes using them for anything other than a businessman in a suit too difficult.
