helldivers difficulty curve: i can usually complete a mission on the 2/9 "Easy"

rabidchaos,
@rabidchaos@hachyderm.io avatar

@whitequark The difficulty's seemed a good bit higher over the past couple weeks than the same nominal difficulty did before, especially when running less than a full team. Before that patch I could reliably solo a level 3; now it's dicey.

Hopefully they fix the bug where they're throwing just as many mobs at the player(s) whether it's a 4-stack or a singleton.

The Ukrainian navy is just trolling now: the original Major Kunikov died on February 14th, 1943. They literally waited until the anniversary of his death to sink his nautical namesake. https://kyivindependent.com/media-russian-landing-ship-allegedly-sunk-by-drones-in-black-sea/

As DEW systems work their way down the TRL scale, I wonder if we'll see a return of the nuclear cruiser? In addition to the power aspect, they also have great strategic mobility. With the world getting complicated, that's going to be worth a lot more than it was in the cold war.

🤡There's a non-zero percent of the US population that genuinely believes that The NFL, Joe Biden, "The Pentagon" and Taylor Swift, conspired to create a fake relationship and rig the NFL playoffs, so that Taylor Swift could pop out in the middle of the Superbowl halftime show and say "Vote for Biden!"

I wish I was kidding.

Like, not a small percentage either.

@mekkaokereke A. Aren't many of these people they type to classify anything that goes against their worldview as "aggressive"?

B. There's also the small issue that, when they say dumb shit online, the people responding to them may not actually be Taylor Swift fans - just interested in pushing back against dumb shit.

As a science fiction writer, I am professionally irritated by a lot of sf movies. Not only do those writers get paid a lot more than I do, they insist on including things like "self-destruct" buttons on the bridges of their starships.

@cstross @pluralistic To be a pedant, REAL space launchers still don't put the self-destruct button where the crew can (accidentally or maliciously) get to it - it live(s? d?) in mission control on the ground. At least some of the current rockets have done away with it entirely in favor of a computer on the rocket receiving tracking information and making the call.
