I don't normally watch cable. I just saw a commercial for Harry's razor blades that boasts they're $2 a blade like it's some kind of deal.

Does anybody know of a way to upscale images with good results?

Here's the problem: we were recently handed POD versions of PDFs, which we were going to extract the images from. They were embedded at >300 DPI, but were originally 72. We're looking to salvage a small portion of them.

Our furnace is really struggling with this cold. It's 14 F outside right now and still dropping, and it still hasn't gotten above 62 in our bedroom. The gas fireplace downstairs has been on since this afternoon. It's supposed to be cold like this all next week too — I shudder to think what our heating bill is going to be next month.

I just realized #MarvelSnap unborked Luke Cage (he costs 3 now but protects all cards again instead of just one location). So I'm back on my Wong Hazmat shit. Just won a game with 1 power in two locations and -5 in a "Least Power wins" location and didn't use Luke Cage at all.

My dream VTT would allow uploading PDFs (or images) of sheets and allow defining the fields to be filled in, assigning them to die rolls, etc. Why has nobody done this yet?

We're diving into the build pipeline for our database servers as we gear up for a migration. The pipeline was by a consultant AWS provided over two years ago when we migrated from on-prem. It's worked for us since but as I've gone to modify things for the new migration I'm finding all kinds of small mistakes that are getting in the way and have to be fixed

frens I have a weird thing. I rearranged the security group configuration for an EC2 instance config so that it has four CIDR blocks per inbound rule. This is intended for a multi-subnet SQL Server WFCL. The only changes are adding CIDR blocks for a third node that's in a different subnet. This is 4 CIDR blocks total - 1 in us-west-2-lax-1a, 1 in us-west-2-lax-1b, 1 in us-west-2a, and a 10.x block. Only 3 CIDR blocks get added per inbound rule. Is there a limit in Pulumi?

I love the passion and interest that some people have in #TTRPGs I also love. At the same time, I find it very exhausting. Yes, I agree it would be great if more material were produced for this game. No, I don't think the lack of a single page's worth of errata means the game has been abandoned.

I've been plugging away at improving my sheet's appearance for Tribes in the Dark and I'm happy enough with it to stop futzing. Pretty much gone through every element and changed, rearranged, etc. I'm not happy with the big section in the middle for armor boxes but I'm leaving it be until I figure out something better to do with it.

In May I'm going to Cruel World with my step-daughter. Turns out I'm going to be flying down by myself and she's joining me later. Odds are I'll be staying Friday night on my own, stumbling distance from Boardner's in Hollywood. Not sure if I'm too old for an '80s night before the '80s festival. It will be a tough choice between that and a quiet night alone.

Thank goodness our HA works because we've had the fourth incident of EC2 instances failing in as many weeks. All of them in the LAX local zone. Today was the biggest, practically our whole farm and both A and B availability zones. At least 100 instances.

My boss picked up a mountain lion on his wildlife camera in his backyard, and I was reminded of my close encounter. I first realized he was behind me when I was near that bush on the right. I walked backwards until I got the point I took the picture. When I talked to the park rangers they said he was just curious, if he wanted to get me I wouldn't have seen him.

Our session got cut short on Sunday by my work intruding. The previous session the Cell had chased down a Z'bri possessed Agnite who had attacked the two Guides, Halos and Den Hades, and stolen one of Halos' heartstones. They found the thief in a cellar underneath Ile Purdue (the “S&M bar” as I described it), along with the mangled body of another Agnite and a third, unknown body. Our friendly Jacker and our Doomsayer both got stabbed by the Agnite, and the Jacker was more seriously injured.1/x
