These Chinese Elm trees were the worst decision. A breeze or rain makes their branches snap and fall on cars and homes. Whoever decided to line the streets with these trees needs to be shamed! 😤
I understand the Mayor’s aim is to bring people to the Financial District, but I feel like we should bring tourist development to tourist areas like near union square and fisherman’s wharf. I don’t think making this block an entertainment zone will help fill the offices at Embarcadero Center nearby.
Valencia Street used to close the streets off to traffic, and it was a big hit. If the restaurants could sell alcohol for outdoor consumption during those events, I could see it being successful.
I recall it being a big deal that the draft age was lowered to 25 for Ukrainians. I kind of understand keeping young men around until 25, but I also acknowledge that there are 40+ year olds fighting, and many men are tired....
edit this was a quarter of a piece of paper, in tiny font, posted in a tiny corner in front of one chair for dine in. I don’t even recall if they offered a receipt but their POS definitely asked for a tip.
They didn’t get stolen. They are somewhere in my apartment or accidentally thrown away by me. I looked up my clipper card activity, and it hasn’t been used by anyone. My bikelink card doesn’t have auto-load on it, and had less than $10 on it....
Update! Very exciting news. I took your guys advice, searching in month old clothes and where I least expect it. I found my clipper card in a pair of pants that I haven’t worn in a while. The bikelink card was not with it. I also found a pair of pajama pants that I’ve been looking for for awhile. I’m very happy I found my bus pass with auto load on it. I’m still slightly bummed that I wont be bicycling to my destination tomorrow, but honestly very relieved and happy about the clipper card that it basically makes up for it. Now I feel hopeful that I’ll find the bikelink card. I feel so much better already!
