Morning. I dreamt last night that there was a Masto / Fediverse meet-up, something along the lines of the emfcamp that's happening this weekend, where people were giving talks about various things (Welsh was one, the history of the River Thames was another.) People were hanging out in their various groups and making food together (it was being held in a hostel / big country house type place) and it was just quite cool to be able to come together like that.

Now that the last chicken has reached its new home, I can share this, which is all the chickens I've made. When I started my first chicken 3 months ago, I didn't realise I was going to make 6 in a very short time. Thank you all for humouring my obsession these past few months. I'm going to take a break now, but maybe I'll make another one if there's someone who really needs one.

Gah, slightly spoilered myself for the book that I'm currently reading (and have nearly finished), by going to see if I can get the next book in the series from the library or if I'll need to buy it.

I had a reasonable idea of what might happen, just going by the fact that it is a series, and the titles do imply a certain development, but still.

Just seen a message on one of my work mailing lists about a prize for postgraduate and early career researchers using Scottish archive collections. It's sponsored by Thomas Tunnock Ltd (i.e the company that makes Tunnocks tea cakes and caramel wafers), and I am MOST disappointed that the prize is £250, and not a year's supply of tea cakes and wafers.

It was raining earlier, so of course the first thing I did when I came downstairs this morning was head out into the garden to take photos of wet flowers. I even still had my washed hair still wrapped up in a towel.

A bright pink rose flower, not fully bloomed yet, surrounded by several rose buds. The petals are bright pink, and there are some rain drops on the lower sections.
White flowers with gentle pink veins, with yes, more rain drops on them.
One purple flower with darker purple veins, covered with rain drops, and surrounded by leaves.
