skycat,

Glad I deleted my gmail account, a gateway to google walled garden, years ago. Even if google put Digital Restriction Management on its shitty browser I would use Firefox and Pale moon browser. Never been a a fan of chromi-shitty-um

skycat,

This is why proprietary software subjugates users. Stallman is right.

skycat,

Clipious = invidious front end

Please make Lemmy easily crawable by search engines so people can get useful search results

skycat,

I think Lemmy is cool if search engines crawls the contents easily so people can get useful answers

How can I convert my music?

I have a fairly large music collection, which is 9.9 GB in size. It’s mainly made up of MP3 files, with some OGG Vorbis files and a handful of WAV and WMA files. I would like to convert the entire library to AAC (or a better format, if there is one) in order to reduce the size of my collection by a considerable amount....

skycat,

You can use ffmpeg command line with some loop (for) tricks. If you want to save some space without re converting them, use .flac or .mka container with -copy flags

skycat,

And they have audacity to say "Google <3 Open Source". bullshit! This is why companies prefer the term opensource rather than Free Software because they don't have to deal with moral issues.

skycat,

I don't trust anything that comes from proprietary platforms. Anything they do is for their benefits

Is this the equivalent of Intel management engine?

Any other Krita users here? (krita.org)

Hello, everyone! I was wondering if anyone here enjoys using Krita? I started using it about a month or two ago and it's been a rather pleasant experience. The switch from Clip Studio Paint was smoother than I expected. It doesn't have a fancy brush shop like CSP does, but the brush customization is more intuitive than I...

skycat,

I use Krita on my GNU/Linux Trisquel. I am not an artist (yet) and I don't know how to draw but I use the app when I'm bored. I still don't know my way around the app but I think the app is very powerful for artists.

I plan to make a manga and draw anime there. I don't know where to start tho since I'm a complete beginner. I bought a cheap drawing tablet but haven't touched it since the end of 2022 lol.

I plan to draw as a hobby.

Besides Krita I also have MyPaint

skycat,

If you want temporary solution, use XMPP. You can use a username instead of a phone number. You can create private and public chats

skycat,

I can’t imagine having IoT in your eyes than can stop working whenever the company decides to shut down its server. This is 1984 Orwellian case,

skycat,

Let's move to XMPP then. They can't block it since it's a fediverse instant messenger

skycat,

This is how a website should be. No ads, no unnecessary styling. Just important information

Is Nano better than Vim?
@memes

skycat,

Same. I still don't know how to quit vim
