Sometimes I forget how much in an IT bubble I am.

With the XZ backdoor story it's almost like people avoided an IT catastrophe, and only the geeks are talking about it.

There are Finnish developers (probably NOT as the bad guys) in the center of the hurricane, but no Finnish media seems to be reporting it.

Considering how much our world is dependent on IT, it's strange that mainstream media shows so little interest in these stories...

TLDR for my non techies

A Finnish dev was the main maintainer of a key open source utility used in SSH - a protocol to securely access servers.

Being unpaid for this hobby (yet critical) project and mentioning struggles with long term mental health, he welcomed another dev to help. That other dev gradually introduced a vulnerability, in a way that seems to be (and most likely is) very intentional.

Update: ja fui levantar. Nos correios deu para ver mais uma carta com o logotipo das legislativas. Tenho outro tuga a viver ao pé de mim e não sabia Os tugas estão por todo o lado.

(Acho que isto também aconteceu nas últimas eleições, mas não me lembrava 😅)

To be honest: you couldn't expect to play by the rules after sending the perfect candidate last year and not winning. The game was rigged, so sending an over the top performance about "no rules" is the PERFECT response.

And I didn't think anything of until I saw their live performance. It was one of the best!

@gimulnautti or could it just be a subliminal message of fear, regarding energy dependency when winter is just around the corner.

The date is also too much to be a coincidence. Nordstream 2 was sabotaged in Sept 2022. This one just a few days after September ended.

Maybe they wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the happening, but with Russia being Russia, they were late...

@gimulnautti I mean, X is not a complex shape, so you'll eventually look like other logos if you aim for a minimalist and "modern" design like everyone is doing.

That doesn't speak so much about copying other logos, it speaks of the poor brand recognition that "X" will have, and lack of identity... 👀

But yes the similarities are there...

Adding insult to injury, who is in the middle of a racism scandal, will replace the PM when he is on vacation from 7 to 13 August.

Think about this: will have as interim prime minister someone who implied in internet comments that if she had a gun she would kill people on commuter trains, and called women wearing hijabs "black sacks".

All this after parliament recess interruption was denied by the owner of the blog she wrote those comments in...

Now is warning that Russia will attempt to create a radiological incident in . Also providing exact dates.

It's time we take these reports seriously. Politicians downplayed the warnings about Hitler, let's not do the same with Putler.
