@Tutanota this is one service Google won’t shutdown; all that free data they get from people’s otherwise private emails as one of the biggest email providers.

@reginagrogan this happened to me the other day in one of the UKs leading discount supermarkets… I dared to scan a loaf of bread the machine clearly thought should weigh more or less than it did. The employee who came over went “what have you taken out of the bag?!” whilst scanning up and down to see where I’d hide these items I would be supposedly stealing - I felt accused af. I’d have gone to someone on a checkout in the first place if they’d had them because I hate self checkout.

@paul there’s no way they won’t extend it in ways that excludes the existing instances and then try to run the concept of federation into the ground whilst becoming the biggest instance. I hate to say it but history repeats itself constantly and you can find example after example of corporates pulling this exact behaviour.

@mlundblad Maps has made some great progress and it’s become a really polished app… kudos to all involved and great to see it continuing to improve.
