talentedkiwi,

Seems they want to force you to use their “Car Thing” voice assistant. Probably to listen into your conversations…

talentedkiwi,

I imagine that’s part of their point? At least that is how I took it.

talentedkiwi,

Though dealing with customers in fast food can directly apply to tech support, and it needs to stay somewhat relevant. Otherwise I agree.

Recommendations for boots, Male with flat feet (feddit.uk)

Could anyone recommend me some good boots that have good arch support that wont give me blisters. I have flat feet (no arch at all) and regular shoes give me blisters and hurt my legs because they don’t support my non arched feet. I’ve had much better luck with boots but the brand I usually buy from Amazon (northwest) no...

talentedkiwi,

Any recommendations on a casual sneaker? All the ones I have tried are too narrow for my orthotic.

talentedkiwi,

We do a marathon each Easter weekend. I make a hobbit style feast and we watch over Saturday and Sunday.

talentedkiwi,

I have lawnchair and it supports work profile. At least as far as I know. I can swipe left/right to see my work apps in the app drawer. Not sure if there’s something else.

I’m running 14 beta 2 github.com/LawnchairLauncher/lawnchair/releases

talentedkiwi,

We had literally watched this episode tonight too!

YSK : Dark patterns among large companies are becoming more mainstream (youtu.be)

While it is no secret that exploitative practices are interlaced with capitalistic tendencies, the practices are becoming intolerable. Signing up to pay usually takes only two clicks that are prominently visible whereas cancelation options are hidden away in deep settings requiring multiple clicks. Pricing often feel arbitrary...

talentedkiwi,

I’ve used freetaxusa the last couple of years. If the IRS one isn’t available, then I’d recommend them.

talentedkiwi,

We’ve had three yes, but what about 4th crisis?

And waste all that precious piss? I’ll just spit

talentedkiwi,

I reckon it has to do with the weight that the workers have to pick up (usually no more than 50 lbs). If they err on the side of none, then people will likely try to put a little in at a time. Then they won’t care. I imagine if they say a little is okay, then people will fill the bins/bags with soil. I can hear it now, “It’s just a little!”

talentedkiwi,

talentedkiwi,

My favorite is from drink shouts (gone a long time). Still might be sweet for your taste, but definitely needs the high proof bourbon to help cut it a little. Biggest difference is the addition of bitters (and the inversion of the liquor as you mentioned).

1.5 oz Amaretto (Luxardo)

.75 oz. High-Proof Bourbon (Knob Creek)

1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

2 tsp. Simple Syrup

.5 oz. Egg White, Beaten

2 Dashes Aromatic Bitters (The Bitter Truth)

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker WITHOUT ICE and shake for a few seconds (this is called “dry shaking” and helps the egg whites blend). Then add ice, and shake very thoroughly. Strain into a chilled, ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a Luxardo maraschino cherry.

talentedkiwi,

You could try clipping them off instead of pulling them out. Just use a flush cutter (or as close to flush) and cut them down to the wood. This is what most do when taking our trim, as it can cause more damage to get the nails/staples out.

talentedkiwi,

I agree, that piece on the back of the face got pretty mangled, and glueing it up honestly wouldn’t be enough long term.

talentedkiwi, (edited )

Looking at the picture, a regular piece of wood should work as long as the thickness is the same. Otherwise the front will sit a bit proud if thicker, or there will be a gap if thinner. Though you could trim the dado back on the sides if it’s thicker. Edit: and make sure to measure size before trying to take it off. Just in case it breaks more.

It looks like that particle board is nailed to the face. Hopefully it isn’t glued as well, otherwise it’ll be a beast to get off. Those screws are just for the handle and likely have no structural qualities.

Another thought. Try the warranty.

Edit: Hmm. Says not transferrable. But I suppose it doesn’t hurt to try

talentedkiwi,

Not op, but some people seek the community that religion provides.

talentedkiwi,

Sounds delightful! Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!
