Also being able to speak the local language usually makes people accept you much quicker wherever you go in the world.

As someone bilingual who lives in a non-english speaking country, this has gotten me into many places that other english speaking foreigners have missed out on. People love it when you speak their own language to them, even if you aren’t completely fluent.

What are you cooking that takes 2 hours every day? I cook most of my own meals and i don’t often go over an hour of cooking and most of that is just waiting.

Field uniforms are different than dress uniforms. This is a dress uniform and it is used to show off your accomplishments and affiliations. Field uniforms would be more like Major Hayes from Enterprise. His uniform is drab and you can’t easily tell the difference between him and his subordinates.

That’s probably more to do with budgetary reasons. Why make two sets of clothes for something most people won’t notice or care about?

This meme was made by someone who didn’t serve in the military. Many times did I salute someone who i shouldn’t have because their rank insignia was too small to see at a distance or too similar to another branch’s rank insignia. Having it everywhere makes sense.

And the rank on the back? Genius. I’d know that person was a captain so i could sneak off to buffer time while they weren’t looking as opposed to having to go in front of them to rank check for 21st century uniforms.

Not for stars the size of our sun. You need a few times the mass of our sun in order to get a black hole afterwards. Our sun will puff up to a red giant, slough off the outer layers, become a white dwarf and then slowly cool over aeons.

The sun won’t die. It will turn into a white dwarf which is basically a really hot ball of carbon, iron, and lighter elements which will just cool down for trillions of years until it’s an inert lump. Also the sun may not eat us. We aren’t sure how far the sun will expand during its red giant phase. We may escape being gobbled up and may only get baked like an autoclave. Why does it matter if something has an anachronistic person cast? It doesn’t bother me in the slightest if George Washington is black or if Queen Victoria has dreadlocks. I personally only care if the acting is good.
