Or, you know, just connect the Steam Deck to the television…

Gas stations themselves have loyalty programs as well. Same deal.

The Hulk TV show was basically:

“David” Banner walks into town. (TV show execs thought “Bruce” wasn’t masculine enough).

Experiences some heinous small town injustice.

Turns into the Hulk exactly twice to solve the problem.

Walks off to the next small town to sad piano music.

I don’t know of a Hulk run that’s as… limited as the TV show is. Comics don’t have a special effects budget. :)

This comes up in Portland periodically as we are one of the few places that DOESN’T fluoridate water.

When you do the research on it, you find some fascinating things:

Applying fluoride topically through toothpaste or mouthwash unequivocably works wonders for tooth decay.

There is no evidence drinking it as part of the water supply does ANYTHING. Positive or negative.

You have to understand one big thing… The first municipality to add fluoride to water did so in 1945.

The first fluoridated toothpaste wouldn’t hit the market until 1955, 10 years later (thanks Crest!)

scientificamerican.com/…/second-thoughts-on-fluor…

So when you look at studies trying to determine if drinking water as a source is effective, you need to immediately ignore any study done before the introduction of fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash.

LOL:

“How risky was the AstraZeneca vaccine?

Compared to other scenarios

Death from giving birth - 1 in 12,500

Chance of under-50s getting blood clot with low platelets from AstraZeneca vaccine - 1 in 50,000

Death from receiving general anaesthetic - 1 in 100,000”

Death from giving birth number seems awfully low, must be UK numbers. ;)

Yup. US death rate is 32.9 per 100,000 so… 1 in 3,039.51

Source: npr.org/…/maternal-mortality-overestimate-deaths-…

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Oh, it gets WORSE:

www.cdc.gov/…/maternal-mortality-rates-2021.htm

“In 2021, the maternal mortality rate for non-Hispanic Black (subsequently, Black) women was 69.9 deaths per 100,000 live births, 2.6 times the rate for non-Hispanic White (subsequently, White) women (26.6) (Figure 1 and Table). Rates for Black women were significantly higher than rates for White and Hispanic women.”

1 in 1,430.62 for black women. This is why abortion rights are so important in the US.

The Guyver: 4K release coming from Unearthed Films (www.joblo.com)

The Guyver is a 1991 flick loosely based on a Japanese Manga, which was initially put out (in a heavily truncated version) by New Line Cinema on home video. It did well enough to get a sequel, Guyver: Dark Hero, but it’s a movie that hasn’t been super easy to see over the years – until now that is....

Hugely influential manga, anime and film.

Even down to the latest iteration of Blue Beetle.

Not sure if you altered the headline or the Hill changed it after you posted it.

Current headline is a little stronger, if you can make it match that would be great!

“Trump’s valet admitted they chose ‘at random’ which boxes of classified documents to return”

Admits instead of says.

BOXES of classified documents, not single documents.

jordanlund,

It does kind of make sense since the same lawyers and the same defendant are stuck in a criminal trial in New York until June.

It’s not like they can apparate between New York and Florida.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Doesn’t work if you need to be in two places at the same time.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

It’s not gymnastics.

In a criminal case, presence is mandatory.

So how do you expect a criminal defendant to appear in two different courthouses at the same time?

Let’s finish the NY trial, then he can go on trial somewhere else while waiting on sentencing in NY.

Court #2 can give him a release to attend sentencing then work with that prison system so he can appear in court #2.

Estimates are the NY case should be wrapped up somewhere around the first week in June.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Actually, yeah, they pretty much do.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heath_v._Alabama#Facts_an…

Note, that’s charging in two different states for the same crime and the courts went in order.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Campaigning and hanging out at races is being done when court is not in session.

If the Florida court demanded he be present at 8 AM on 5/20, and the NY court was in session that day which would ALSO demand his presence, there’s literally no way to do that.

He, and his lawyers, can’t be running one case in person and running another remotely. That’s not going to work.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Remote appearances are definitely allowed, just not simultaneously in two courtrooms.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Technically, in that case, they were different cases as well which is why double jeopardy was not in play.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

People who aren’t Trump don’t have to appear in two courtrooms at the same time either because it’s not physically possible.

Say you have a doctors appointment at 8 AM on a Thursday and a 2nd doctor also wants you at the same day and time. One of them HAS to re-schedule.

Except in this case, blowing off one of the two appointments would carry a criminal penalty.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

That’s not going to help him if both courts are in session on the same day, at the same time.

jordanlund,
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

You can be forced to be in two courts BUT NOT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME.

You can’t simultaneously appear before judges in both New York and Florida. Time/Space does not work that way.

I’ve been looking into this as an electric wheelchair traveller, there are guidelines, but it’s also up to the airline. I’d talk to them first and see what they say.

www.faa.gov/…/wheelchairs-mobility-devices

“Lithium ion battery size is limited to 300 watt hours (Wh). One spare battery not exceeding 300 Wh or two spare batteries not exceeding 160 Wh each may be carried in carry-on baggage.

Lithium ion batteries must be removed from this type of mobility device and battery terminals protected from short circuit. The battery must be protected from damage (e.g. by placing each battery in a protective pouch). The lithium ion batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage only. The passenger must advise the airline of the battery location. The airline must notify the Pilot-in-command of the battery location in the cabin.

For complete passenger instructions contact your airline or the mobility device manufacturer on how to transport your battery as a passenger. Advance arrangements and extra check-in time may be necessary.

Individual airlines may have more restrictive rules regarding the acceptance of any dangerous goods, including lithium batteries that power mobility aids.”
