@mcc Yeah Firefox has a Task Manager. Checking that a few months ago led to me uninstalling one of Mozilla's recommended add-ons - Tab Session Manager.

It's funny. I left Twitter about a month ago and I thought I would miss it because I liked some of the communities on there but in reality I don't miss it much. Just wish I knew other servers for Black people on the Fediverse.

While I understand your concerns, I never felt addicted to Twitter. For someone with my interests, I don't always have people to talk about them in real life. So it was nice to meet people from around the world that I could talk to about more niche stuff.

@1dalm For example, I followed people who were working on game design projects. They gave frequent updates on their work on Twitter and I got to interact with them as well and learn more about game development. Sure, they have other platforms and I made sure to check them out there once I realized Twitter was going down the toilet.

Hello. I've been on Mastodon for a bit but here's my intro. So I decided to try Mastodon after leaving a site which swiftly turned into a dumpster fire (formerly started with a T) once a certain Boer bought it out.

Because of his willingness to play for segregated audiences, throughout much of his life, Louis Armstrong was called a sellout and an Uncle Tom by many Black Americans, But, in 1957, Satchmo blew up-—blasting Eisenhower to bits for not condemning treatment of Black American students in the South. His passionate words made world headlines, alienated many white fans, and divided Black America.

@Deglassco This is a great thread. Louis Armstrong is way before my time but it's cool to learn more about his life. What's really telling is the reaction from the white press towards him calling out Eisenhower's lack of action. It's like the minute you disagree with some whites, then the insults, invalidation, deflection, and projection begins. It's stunning how much hasn't changed.
