Nachdem ZFS (zfsutils-linux) unter Armbian immer noch nicht installierbar ist wegen nicht auflösbarer Paketkonflikte und ich relativ schnell eine funktionierende Lösung brauche, habe ich gestern mal mit etwas Aufwand auf BTRFS umgestellt und sehe mir das nun mal an.

Ist eh überfällig, mich damit mal genauer auseinandersetzen.

@benzucker das ist es üblicherweise - hier aber nicht ;) ZFS an sich kann ich prima downloaden und bauen. Das Kernelmodul sieht gut aus. Aber ohne die zfsutils-linux kann ich ZFS nicht bedienen, und daran scheitert es. Als Fehler werden mir Abhängigkeiten in gewissen Versionen genannt, die aber nicht (oder nicht mehr) bereitstehen.

@benzucker Vielleicht könnte ich irgendwie mit einigem Nachforschen einen Rollback hinkriegen, aber dazu fehlt mir die Lust.

Wenn ein einfaches apt Update sowas kaputt macht, hab ich keinen Bock mehr. Dann muss was anderes her. Vorübergehend versuche ich es mal mit BTRFS und danach muss eh mal ne andere Plattform und ein stabileres OS her.

Das Armbian Gefrickel geht nur allmählich auf die Nerven ;)

@benzucker jepp, deswegen will ich mal sehen, ob ich nicht was andere mit nem Intel N100 oder sparsamen AMD Chip bekommen kann. Etwas mehr Power wollte ich eh. Und gute Unterstützung für HW Crypto Extensions und Videotranscoding. Das ist unter ARM zwar manchmal verfügbar, aber halt auch wieder Gefummel.

Das brauche ich einfach nicht mehr. Was funktionierendes muss her :)

@benzucker bzgl Intel CPUs - hast du da zufällig einen Tipp für einen energiesparsamen Chip für NAS Anwendung und Gelegentliches Transcoding für Jellyfin?

Ich hab da einfach überhaupt keine Übersicht, was es aktuell passendes gibt. Nur das mit dem N100 ist mir untergekommen... Dass der relativ beliebt zu sein scheint.

@benzucker danke für deine Bereitschaft, aber das mit ZFS (auf diesem System) ist erst mal begraben. :)

Wie gesagt - habe eh schon umgestellt und will nicht weiter Zeit rein investieren. Die habe ich gerade nicht und habe schon zu viel reingesteckt.

Habe nicht daran gedacht, dass du dich ja intensiver mit Armbian befasst. Sonst hätte ich dich Vllt früher angeschrieben ;)

@Hughenknubbel neee das kommt immer sehr darauf an, welche Features man nutzt. Manche (wie zum Beispiel ein einfaches RAID 1)sind sehr stabil. Andere sind experimentell aber auch als solche markiert.

Namhafte NAS Hersteller setzen übrigens auch auf BTRFS. Also es kommt wirklich immer darauf an...

Fuck YouTube ads! I avoid the platform as much as possible, but sometimes I have no other choices... It's regularly the case with #1001albums, and also sometimes for new releases (the new Beth Gibbons for example). When I'm home I can easily use yt-dlp to get the music locally without the ads, but when I'm at work I don't have this option and I'm suffering, a lot. I gave up listening to Beth Gibbons this week because 2 ads between each song is really unbearable

@mbr I've considered subscribing to YouTube Premium so often. Just because I absolutely hate ads that consume my time.

But every time I ended up with the same thought: I'd rather spend € 10 every month buying an album on Bandcamp than feeding an ad company with my money.

And as I use YouTube just occasionally, it's not thaaaat bad.

This might be another "Old man yells at cloud moment", but why is increasingly putting reaction videos above the actual music videos?

I don't want to watch someone else watching the video and interrupting with low effort commentary, I want to watch the actual video 🤨

Maybe I just don't get the point of reaction videos or why they're so popular.

@goebelmasse wieder und wieder wünsche ich mir eine Beschwerdestelle. Ich mache ein Foto schicke es an den Anbieter und der Account des letzten Fahrers wird für einen Monat gesperrt.

So stelle ich mir das vor. Eine solche Stelle gab es wohl auch einige Zeit mal, wurde dann von den Betreibern aber eingestellt.

@yourfutureex hmm notifications work fine for me. Maybe there was some issue with the app? The app relies on 3rd party push servers. Maybe there was a problem that has been resolved.

It's feature complete. Not the fastest one when it comes to scrolling and animations etc - but it works reliably.

I've been testing Megalodon, Mastodon for Android, Elk and others but none of them ever really convinced me to stay.

Armbian Update gemacht => ZFS geht nicht mehr, weil Paketversionen inkompatibel sind.

Armbian-Leute wissen Bescheid, aber haben kein Interesse, das zeitnah zu lösen, weil die Version fürs Rock64 nur "Community maintained" ist und sie andere Prios haben.

Ich lasse es mir eine Lehre sein und verzichte wohl dann bald mal auf Armbian. Oder kaufe dann doch was x86 mäßiges, weil mir das Gefummeln und Gebastel mit dem Ding eh schon zu viel Arbeit gemacht hat. 🙄
