@geraineon @Llamacalamity If I could only pick one, it would be CWs. They don’t require any actions from those who are avoiding spoilers. They can decide to not expand the post.

Tagging in relation to avoiding spoilers requires others to make filters for the tags, and sometimes it can be tricky to build the filter in a way that makes it target only the things you don’t want to see. I think tagging is more helpful for those who want to completely avoid something.

@geraineon @Llamacalamity Like, if there’s a TV show you are not interested at all, you can filter the tags related to that and never have to see it on your timeline. So, tagging your posts helps others to both find the content they like and avoid the content they dislike. In this sense, tagging is a broader tool than CWs.

@geraineon I agree that people don’t always know how to properly use the CW field. They should treat it more like the subject field of an email. Then again, many people don’t know how to use that properly either 😅

Hmm, how about we make a Mastodon bingo chart? Put things you can do on Mastodon in it, the same way people did those fanfic writer bingo charts, “wrote 500 words”, “finished a chapter” etc. but for example “made a poll”, “followed three tags”, “edited a post” etc?

My friend is worried that it would be difficult to find the other people in the fandom, because it’s not one huge platform the same way Twitter and Bluesky are.

Somebody should create something like an action plan of getting people on fedi... I'm not going to be that person bc project management gives me anxiety but there has to be somebody out there who knows how to do this stuff and actually likes doing it, right?

I would definitely take over some regular tasks as long as I don't have to organize everything...
