The local (national chain) coffee shop got a beer and wine license this month, and I'm interested to see what they do with it. I'd totally go over there for an evening beer if the prices are reasonable. One of my favorite coffee shops (sadly lost during 2020) did cocktails and live music in the evenings that was a lot of fun.

I went to a meeting where the city was hosting a visioning session on safety improvements to one of the major roads in town, and everyone was unanimous that they don't want it widened and do want the cars to slow down. That's such a different vibe from the last place I lived.

A "fun" tidbit from the local paper: the utility had to halt transition plans to clean energy because it's paying out so much in wildfire damage settlements that it has no money. So since it can't afford clean energy, it's burning more coal, making wildfire risk worse 🙃

#Discover does rotating high-reward categories for their cashback system, and traditionally they have had gas stations as one of the categories. It looks like this year they are replacing that with gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, and public transit. Now I need to figure out how to set up a second payment method with my autoloading public transit card...
