Putting all of my federated Threads accounts into a Mastodon list. And just like that, one of the benefits of Threads supporting the Fediverse is happening in real-time.

I now can view them all in one Mastodon list view TODAY, or add them to multiple lists TODAY, even while lists are a feature not yet here on Threads.

Sad to see Post.news shutting down. They had adding ActivtyPub support on their roadmap but the company did not survive long enough to get there.
Feels clear now that that any new social player HAS to be Fediverse enabled - or tie into existing social graph like IG - or do both - to have a chance at this point.

They had a lot of good ideas and hope other Fediverse based networks pick those up.

@flipboard like @threads is Federating out content from it's profiles...here are the details.... once Threads fully federates in and out, the content from both networks will make both more valuable to both sets of users... (And to everyone else on the Fediverse to boot...)

People are having a hard time understanding the Fediverse, a standard that'll decentralize and democratize social media so something as disruptive as Elon Musk's Twitter takeover can't happen again.

The standard called ActivityPub will loosen the grip of each platform owning your connection with your community of followers. Allowing others on different platforms to follow you and see your Threads and you following others not on Threads spreads the risk and gives you and your followers options.

I’ve been at this for days and I suppose it’s time to ask for help for the community.

I really really really want to fundraise for charities or non-profits dedicated to the research and treatment of parasitic infections. (Like brainworms)

But I want you to feel confident I’m not just taking the money so I want to use a platform that just directly provides the funds. I can’t seem to find something that doesn’t want me to set up my own non-profit. Maybe I’m just a 🪱👇
