Shouldn't western powers not mark some kind of red line with regard to the russian advance in western-Ukraine, with the assumption that Russia will not risk world war 3 for conquering that part ? Or will in the end EU and NATO just watch while Kyiv and Lviv are overrun by Russian forces ?
The risks are enormous i am aware but that's also true for the scenarios where we let Russia just conquer Ukraine.

Now the financial funds are available i would expect a massive movement of military equipment by land and air (like the berlin airlift, https://www.defense.gov/News/Feature-Stories/story/Article/3072635/the-berlin-airlift-what-it-was-its-importance-in-the-cold-war/ ) towards Ukraine , but that doesn't seems to be happening. What is the problem?

@kellogh @swaldman ...personally i am not sure whether this is the right way to adress this issue. Ofcourse the problem of training LLMs with large pools of unlicensed data, including private/personal data without permission (when it's needed) should be adressed, i only don't know if this is the way...🤔

@swaldman @kellogh legally I am quite sure most LLMs are a breach of GDPR , because for most the training data is far from transparant and could or does include data related to persons or even personal data 🤔

The big difference between the fediverse and centralized platforms like X, Facebook and others is that people can argue, have different opinions about what the future of the Fediverse should be or not, but anybody has the choice to fork, leave, disconnect etc. set up their own initiative, without losing everything they invested in their network.

@gerrymcgovern ...it's not black vs white, i use AI everyday for non-critical tasks, fully aware of it's limitations. Very useful and time-saving. We should just learn what to use those tools for and what their limitations are.

@LiefhebberV @DeGroene Externe inhuur moet je verstandig mee omgaan maar zal altijd nodig blijven, zo simpel als je het beschrijft is het niet, neem informatiebeveiliging, heel goed als je daar als gemeente of kleine organisatie met mate en tijdelijk extern voor inhuurt, die specialisatie heb je niet zelf en kun je ook vaak niet opbouwen. Overigens van alles mis met hoe het nu gaat met inhuur van externen, daar ben ik het wel mee eens.

@LiefhebberV Ik ben consultant geweest en ik heb ze ingehuurd, het zijn adviseurs met specifieke kennis (op verschillende gebieden) en/of extra capaciteit die je zelf niet hebt, dat zal altijd nodig zijn , maar hoe je dat verstandig doet, met mate, zelf genoeg kennis in de organisatie houdt etc is een uitdaging, zeker bij voortdurend tekort aan personeel

My first troublesome hallucination with a #LLM in a while: #Claude3 #Opus (200k context) insisting that I can configure my existing #Yubikey #GPG keys to work with PKINIT with #Kerberos and helping me for a couple of hours to try to do so — before realising that GPG keys aren't supported for this use case. Whoops.

No real bother other than some wasted time, but a bit painful and disappointing.

Now to start looking at PIV instead.
