There is one actor that has a lot to gain with any unrest and/or fighting in Kosovo and that's Putin.
An escalation in Kosovo would weaken both EU and NATO. Ofcourse it's possible Russia has nothing to do with it, but it's a bit too convenient.🤔

De regel dat je een wedstrijd staakt als er meerdere malen vuurwerk op het veld wordt gegooid kan ik begrijpen. Tegelijk lijkt het bij Ajax-Feyenoord vandaag dat de F-side deze regel heeft aangegrepen om een te hoge uitslag en vernedering te voorkomen.

Great article by Gary Marcus, he is a sceptic with regard to LLMs I appreciate very much. At the same time it's good to remember LLMs / generative AI are just one technology available in the field of machine learning. Problems like described can maybe solved by combining technologies/algorithms. Also we are at the beginning of the generative AI boom, not the end. Nog 60 dagen onzin, bekvechten en televisiegelul. Daarna gaan we 300 dagen lang de uitslag duiden, nog meer onzin over al dan niet samenwerken en het formeren van een nieuwe coalitie aanhoren. Die met een beetje pech na 100 dagen weer breekt. Kortom: we halen de klimaat en stikstofdoelen niet, wie arm is blijft arm, Tata en Chemours draaien dan nog steeds volop en Shell, Unilever, Schiphol en ExxonMobil halen nog steeds onverantwoord hoge winsten.

@fjbakker ...we zijn de overigens de afgelopen 20 jaar alleen maar rijker geworden, ook de armsten zijn minder arm dan toen en ja democratie is niet erg efficiënt, vaak vermoeiend maar minst slechte systeem wat we op deze wereld hebben

Natuurlijk zijn doorrekeningen van het CPB niet perfect maar ze bieden wel een indicatie of plannen van een partij enige realiteitszin hebben, in die zin niet vreemd dat haar plannen niet wil laten doorrekenen. Het programma is een grote wensenlijst zonder dekking.

@baldur interesting paper, i tried to reproduce the failing on Bing Chat with GPT-4 but that didn't work ?
I view LLMs as extremely capable (not limited) text correlation tools, not tools that can do logical deductions, so I am not shocked honestly.

@baldur true, i agree, the question is how much of those big flaws/problems can be addressed by next iterations of current models, combining them with other techniques/algorithms etc, so much money is thrown at it, there is non-trivial chance companies will succeed in this

@Zeugs @baldur ...the massive trainingset is more then our hopes and believes, LLM really shines in the language departement, whether it's translation, brainstorming about the structure of a document, it's content etc. It does NOT replace humans in my view but can really augment them, there is enough evidence for that. Not only in my personal experience but also in various papers. Also the major point is making a lot of money i am afraid...

@Zeugs ... personally i have been using tools like perplexity.ai or Phind.com which works fine for questions i used Google for but now I get a more comprehensive and complete answer, they work fine for technical subjects, perplexity even tries to provide the sources to check if you really want to be sure. Everything is far from perfect and not fully reliable for sure, but does it save time and added value? For me it does.

@nfrgrt @thomasfuchs ..LLMs actually work for some text related tasks, boiler plate code, can really help with things you did before with search (using perplexity.ai for example) and many other things , it's not "intelligence" but remarkable tools they are for sure. Also LLM technology used in the latest Meta translation tool is impressive (SeamlessM4T)

Volgens mij is er op dit moment helemaal geen goede businesscase voor 5G , zeker niet voor de individuele smartphone gebruiker, dus geen drama dat het vertraagt lijkt me. Want wat jij en ik met 5G moeten kan niemand echt overtuigend uitleggen valt me op.

Klaver (GL/PvdA) en Paternotte (D66) geven terecht aan dat het volstrekt ongeloofwaardig is om voortdurend te grabbelen in het groeifonds, zoals nu door de VVD wordt voorgesteld hier geld uit te halen om de accijnsverlaging te kunnen betalen. While other messengers like Matrix/Element have only recently rolled out E2EE at all, Telegram continuing to pretend that encrypting only some comms, and those with proprietary algorithms is enough, and others like Mastodon just don't even try, Signal is now rolling out post-quantum cryptography with an upgrade to what they call PQXDH.

Now the rest of us would just have to trust that this time, NIST specs haven't been spiked with backdoors..

Regardless backdoors can be possibly be hidden in other parts of the technology stack but not at the protocol level i think.

In 2017 waren er nog argumenten voor de VVD om niet eens te beginnen met formeren met de PVV. Vandaag zegt Hermans: "Ik vind de uitspraken van Wilders moreel verwerpelijk", zei Hermans. "Maar we moeten ook vooruitkijken." Kortom de deur is zeker niet dicht. VVD wil liberale beginselen (oa mbt godsdienst) niet bij voorbaat beschermen lijkt.

@Annelies @vosje62 ...het staat een parlementslid vrij de inhoud van zijn/haar betoog te bepalen, daar moet je geen regels voor stellen, behalve expliciet haatzaaien, oproepen tot geweld , bedreigen etc. maar voor de rest mag alles 😀 , ook keihard liegen bijvoorbeeld.

Terecht dat de oorlog in Oekraïne veel aandacht kreeg in troonrede, er wordt denk ik onderschat wat de invloed is van de afloop daarvan op onze veiligheid, economie, financiën ed en dus ook op in hoeverre we armoede kunnen bestrijden en bestaanszekerheid kunnen verbeteren, duurzaamheidsdoelen kunnen halen etc
