tomi000,

fyi OP said theyre from another country. Not that it makes other points made invalid.

tomi000,

I dont doubt that, but saying that its readily available assuming OP lives in the country where the book comes from is not necesarily true

Trying to integate a Calendar into my website, any ideas?

Hi guys, so me and my mates got a website running for “internal use”, like sharing pictures, recipes, events and stuff like that. We tried The Events Calendar, but the synchronisation only works if the site is public. Do you guys have any ideas what we could use? Maybe a google calendar that we synchronize with the website...

tomi000,

I didnt even think twice about it, wouldnt have realised

tomi000,

Definitely. And it seems like its working :/

tomi000,

I donno, maybe I misinterpreted your tone but your comments all sound really condescending to me. With the “iTs cALled macOS not MacOS” and stuff

tomi000,

The subtitle looks like TINGLINGS to me xD

tomi000,

Im a gamer and only use a desktop. I dont see why I would use a laptop additionally.

tomi000,

Goddamn. I read like half of that and was wondering about the wacky grammar when I realized this is a translated german article. Gonna read the original now xD

tomi000,

Well obviously capitalism would be a great tool for fighting climate change, if not for the fact that 99% of the control over this tool lie in the hands of the people who have absolutely no interest in fighting climate change

tomi000,

I think with Cassandra double raids are pretty standard, the whole playthrough is more predictable. Have fun.

tomi000,

Thanks for clarifying, but actually my tired af brain just didnt make the connection between Lemmy and Lemmy.

tomi000,

What are you getting at?

tomi000,

What you describe as a ‘large thoughtful community of shared knowledge’ sounds a lot like a cult to me. You want to isolate yourself and your followers from the rest of the world because you know most people couldnt be kept there otherwise. You want to misrepresent your instance by removing anyone who doesnt agree with your (probably hurtful extremist) views and that just fuels the fire. I think most people arent inherently bad, just driven by their circumstances and worldviews, but if you dont allow opinions that dont match your own, you cant grow as a person and stay stuck in your own thought loops. Please try taking a different approach and maybe try relating a little to their arguments and why they react like this instead of dismissing them instantly.

Corporate astroturfing is the norm

Went to Google Play to complain about Hulu. I noticed Google advertising that over 300 reviews had the verbatim quote “watch and movies that you love”. It’s always confusing that buggy corporate apps have >95% 5 star reviews until you see that the majority are just completely fake, and no one cares or is doing anything...

tomi000,

Same applies to youtube algorithm

tomi000,

Awesome suggestion. I will check that out right away. Thanks a lot

tomi000, (edited )

Haha I see what you mean. If it works as suggested that would actually help me out a lot though, thats why I got excited. There are certain types of products where I know from the start that 99% of the reviews are fake. There cant be 50.000 people buying the exact same model of screen protector for my noname phonethat not even 50k people own.

tomi000,

Youre hearing excuses when given a perfectly reasonable explanation? How fucking arrogant can you get?

tomi000,

Funny, but just as untrue and offensive as OPs meme. I dont understand how people dont see that and keep being offended while offending 10x harder.

tomi000,

Meat eaters obviously

tomi000, (edited )

Im pretty sure you yourself know how untrue that is. People who eat meat do so mainly out of habit. Habits get engraved in your personality in a way that your ego will defend them to the death. If anyone or anything tries to change or question your habits, your ego interprets that as a personal attack.

Its not really their fault, they have all the necessary information but cant overcome the habit hurdle. It depends strongly on your surroundings and how open you are to new things. It is not in our nature to question things that ‘have always worked this way’.
