@stroughtonsmith @jsnell What I don’t necessarily understand is why no one has proposed Apple split the baby and just put a Mac OS mode or emulation on the Pro models and leave iOS be on the iPad.

Wow, I’m super stressed today. Yesterday’s bout of extra caretaking cost me a ton of lost sleep, which caused a migraine to appear today, which cost me a day’s work, which meant I was absent for a handful of important decision-making live sessions, which means I’m now behind…etc.

My brain is shot to hell. I have ADHD, and my careful planning to ensure focus management has been shattered by a string of unexpected caretaking duties for something like three weeks in a row. I’m exhausted and unproductive. I think I now have PTSD and expect another emergency to appear the moment I start thinking that I have an hour to myself.

Yeesh, this is not good.

@drahardja It may or may not be a practicable suggestion, but I learned yesterday that several studies have shown that spending an hour or two per day without screens in green LED lighting can roughly halve the number of headaches sufferers experience, and lessen the perceived pain from them as well. The research suggested that results were on par with the most effective medicines, but with no known side effects.

@stroughtonsmith For those of us learning to code our first projects and wanting to work with Apple platforms, it’s always disheartening to hear senior developers talk about the state of the platforms like this. (Not that you're doing anything wrong.) It's just difficult to learn when you're unsure if it's your mistake or something deeper.

@stroughtonsmith I have an Apple leather case for my 14 Pro Max currently, and wouldn't buy it again. It just accumulates way to much dirt on the leather and turns black after first getting it. But that's my experience, anyway.

@gedeonm It took a long time for it to all sync up from my MacBook’s Photos library. I have a second library as well, but that one’s not nearly as big. This is the one I keep synced between everything and available everywhere.

@gedeonm Thing about this guy you really have to understand is just how mediocre everything he does is. I’m convinced anyone who inherits an emerald mine has the same likelihood of success as he’s had just by nature of being wealthy and connected and surrounded by smarter people he can use. But Elon? Don’t kid yourself. “Artificial intelligence“ is just Big Tech’s way of saying “hey, it’s not our fault. It’s the machine’s!“ In point of fact, every malign use of “AI“ is really just some human-composed algorithm doing something that maximizes profit or control at the expense of people. We must not let these companies off the hook. They’re in charge. Not the machine. Pay attention to the man behind the curtain.
