Hi, as the title says I’m a new developer and some days ago I was diagnosed. My diagnose journey started because I’m unable to be consistent (That’s not something new) and it is making me really depressed....
Meds made the difference for me. I would have liked a career as a dev, but wasn’t able to because I was undiagnosed and had no idea what was wrong. After my dx and starting meds (in my 40s), I’m finally able to sit down and read documentation and do the work. I hope that helps you.
If you have an iPhone, put your medications into the health app and set them as critical. Even if your phone is on silent, it will give you a notification sound to remind you if you didn’t log it. I would forget my Concerta every day without it.
I wonder why they chose not to integrate HomeKit Secure Video into their new wired doorbell. Maybe to force you to purchase their subscription plan? Either way, my search for a good vertical view HKSV continues!
It needs a battery backup. Sometimes when the power goes out briefly, it doesn’t boot up again. In the winter, this could be disastrous if you aren’t home. I worry when on vacation and constantly check the temp at home.
I’ve been reading a lot about therapies and autism. I know there is strong indication that ABA, in the extremes, could be regarded as emotional mistreatment for autistic people....
A waste of time in my experience. I was having bad anxiety (then undiagnosed ADHD and Autism), and the CBT material basically boils down to “Just stop being anxious”. I don’t know if the material would be any different post-diagnosis.
Just a sanity check here but… yall ever been mid conversation with someone and confused that they’ve forgotten a thing you talked about… until you realize that previous conversation took place entirely in your head?
I’d like to be able to have icons on my home screen for various parts of the health app. Every time I open it, I have to back out of whatever the last thing I used was.
Hi folks, not sure if ‘clean setup’ is the right expression, but anyway… I’ve been sporting an iPhone X for 6 years and tomorrow I get my new iPhone 15 Pro. I was thinking of setting it up clean in the sense of manually adding my apps, email data etc, and not doing a simple transfer from the old iPhone....
You are overthinking it. Switching to a new iPhone is something I’ve done half a dozen times and the best route is to make sure your old phone is backed up to iCloud, then restore the backup on the new phone. Note that this backup is not a file system image. It is pretty clean. If you were moving to a new Windows computer and you wanted to start fresh — heck yes. But for an iPhone, which will redownload all your apps from the App Store anyway, it’s not necessary. Restoring from iCloud backup is a huge timesaver and there is, in my experience, no benefit to not using it. Enjoy your new iPhone!
It’s exhausting because I spend a good portion of the day waiting for my mind to start working, and it’s pretty inefficient. I’m trying to figure out what this is all about, like is it temporary due to burnout, Strattera, or something else.
A game console was my entry into fixing my own stuff. I have friends with similar stories. Nothing like your game not working to motivate you to learn how to fix things.
My model 3 long range is sitting in my garage. I charged it to 80% on Thursday night and unplugged it on Friday morning. It’s just been sitting since that time unplugged but undriven. It’s down to 51% on Tuesday morning. Down 30% in 4 days seems kind of bad. Sentry mode is on despite me having it set to not be on at home....
Sentry mode doesn’t allow the main battery to sleep and will drain it. We recently left our Y for ten days with sentry mode off, and the battery barely moved.
