Stress test of 400 ships in one system. Aiming for 100 ships in a busy system. Yes it's low poly but I'm using all the saved computing power to do lighting, volumetrics and npc behaviour.

Melbourne has had an amazing radio scene with slick pop commercial FM stations, angry talk-back AM stations, sober publicly funded ones for news and classical music and, for me, best of all, massive sincere community radio like RRR, JOY and PBS (no relation to US entity).

The variety and depth meant there really was something for everyone.

Social media is almost there. Some people want a slick corporate service and some want it slightly feral but community-driven and that's OK.

Players! Listen to me! Every programmer hates coding the menus. Every time you go into a menu inside a game that feeling you get is misery dripping from every slider. 😅😭

As a linux/foss/html person, flash was the bane of my existence but it goes largely unremarked how Adobe had the internet in their control and then let it go without a fight?!?

  • Blown away by how something so simple gave the full RPG game loop

  • Defending felt underpowered as it only appeared to delay everything one turn?

  • Putting my gamedev hat on, I was wondering how the balance scaled up later in the game

  • The battle trigger area seemed larger than the enemy or off centered?

Ok, last one. I think I've got it. Pursue, strafe, break off attack, flee, collision detection, object avoidance.

Now I can integrate this logic back in the game proper.
