chomping dots as webcam pacman (PacCam!)

a game of pacman. The background is the user's webcam. There is a small yellow circle in the video that contains the user's face. When the user opens or closes their mouth, so does pacman. Pacman is controlled by tilting your face around (and propelled by opening and closing your mouth) and is eating dots that are on the screen.

The NASA Europa Clipper spacecraft is getting ready to be shipped to KSC in FL. The spacecraft was moved in the clean room at JPL next to the container which will be used for transport to KSC.

At KSC, solar panels will be attached before installation in the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket for launch around Oct 10, 2024. It will be inserted into orbit around Jupiter on April 11, 2030, from where it will make close passes of Europa over 4 years.

Earlier today I edited my (small) set of Stack Overflow posts to add the sentence "I do not consent to my words being used to train OpenAI" to the end. Within hours, all these edits were reversed and I got a warning email for "removing or defacing content". I did not remove any content. If this small sentence is "defacing", it is a very minor defacement. In no way was the experience of other users made worse by me adding one sentence.

To Stack Overflow, you are not a person. You are "content".

Stack Overflow announced that they are partnering with OpenAI, so I tried to delete my highest-rated answers.

Stack Overflow does not let you delete questions that have accepted answers and many upvotes because it would remove knowledge from the community.

So instead I changed my highest-rated answers to a protest message.

Within an hour mods had changed the questions back and suspended my account for 7 days.

This move steals the labour of everyone who contributed to Stack Overflow with no way to opt-out. OpenAI has a history of flooding the web with inaccurate information and have explicitly stated that they will never pay creators for their work.

Anyone got great recommendations for books talking (with tons of schemas!^^) about level-design, layout, etc...?

I feel like there's not much out there on internet about that subject and a ton of "level design" tutorials talk about the pixel-art/modelling aspects

I'm interested in how to create interesting map layouts.

I'd say I'm at the intermediate level on that picture and from there, I can't seem to go higher by myself

Accessibility tip:

If you don't use a screenreader to access the internet, you may be unaware that case matters in hashtags. Sadly, Mastodon tends to lower case them even when you're trying to camel case them.

If you lower case a multiword hashtag, the screenreader reads it like it's one word - making gibberish out of it. If you camel case it (capitalize the start of each word even though you're not spacing between words), the screenreader can differentiate the words.

I feel so grateful to you mastodon users for giving me an online community without any involvement from mainstream human culture, it is nice being removed from that toxic fucking nonsense but without seeing it every day there's this part of me that wonders like what bullshit are they planning while I'm not watching
