One of my favourite Maritime hidden treasure stories: there were legends of pirate treasure being buried on Isle Haute, a island in the Bay of Fundy. For ages, folk would go out and dig around. There used to be a lighthouse on the island and one of the keepers had a great sense of humour. He loved to bury things like big iron pots in places popular for digging and would laugh when a shovel hit the metal and the person would get so excited, then see their faces fall when they pulled up the...

    whenever I feel stressed, there are specific things I no longer do for myself. it has been enough of a regular occurrence that it will sometimes help me identify the onset of stress.

    @lfrum Interesting. I find myself retreating to comfort TV and music I've watched a million times, and rejecting new stuff.

    When the broadcasting industry claims that the reason they need to encrypt over the air broadcasts of free TV channels is to protect their content against AI DEEP FAKES, you know there's really no point in listening to anything else they have to say about this, because they've not only jumped the shark, they've drowned it.

    @CStamp This is true as well. I honestly think a not insignificant part of it comes from the idea you can't like things because you might be ostracized for your fandom (or actually were) and that blows. You don't have to ironically like things or add a qualifier; just like things.

    Trust me, no one's more surprised than I am, but I made this from start to finish: 3D model, print, assembly. In two days. There's no paint, and they only additional parts are the strap and the brass rod which I probably won't do in future versions.
    To say that I'm happy with this is a huge understatement.

    @lauren Yes, but "black" is relative, especially when you're trying to make dark ships read, or a character with a lot of black in them over space, since with no atmosphere, really everything should be pure black. Watching how shows address that, versus mine, is interesting.
