🌤️ On Intelligibility

What is wrong with using a instance to serve as a “virtual machine proxy” to instances, while is unstable?

I primarily want to reference content. Commenting on content from a instance suffices for my purposes.

Can a instance insert a new post into a thread? Threads are not microblogs. I suppose threads and microblogs are different protocols or APIs?

vonck,

@MikeEL * Use "copy url to fediverse" in kbin

  • paste it in mastodon search.

Can someone please remind me how to open a Lemmy community in kbin? Maybe this is a bigger issue on mobile.

If I open a federated community I see this in kbin : https://imgur.com/a/oFQnMqj

And if I click the link to ‘Browse more on the original instance’ I’m brought to this screen : https://imgur.com/a/uNCvirP

And there is no option to subscribe without creating an account on that instance.

I think I might have read you need to search with a specific phrase but I can’t find where I saw that.

Thinking about trying out instead of . The instance I am in keeps going down anyway.

The alt-right is really mad at lemmy, it used to have a default word filter for words like fgot and niger

I feel like this is a dumb question, but what's the difference between and ? Aren't they both reddit alternatives?

vonck,

@unix_joe @mandikaye

>Now kbin is kind of alt-right and has a lot of anti-trans stuff going on.

I know about 2 bad magazines, and I keep an eye on them to see if they actually get any replies/upvotes.

Is there any anti trans message there that is not downvoted to hell? if so, I'd like to act and get the admin's attention

I've just set up a trial account on Kbin (see profile), a Reddit alternative. I plan to use my main account to see how it federates with Mastodon :mastodon:

For starters, here's a link to a Vegan Recipes Kbin 'magazine' (sub-reddit) I found which folks might enjoy regardless -

https://kbin.social/m/veganrecipes@sh.itjust.works

vonck,

@Natasha_Jay federation is working great, you didn't even notice that the kbin magazine is actually a lemmy community on sh.itjust.works

Can anyone tell me if I favourite a lemmy/kbin post that I'm following on Mastodon, does it work as an upvote? 🤔

vonck,

@kudra Yes, that's an upvote

Title: "Reddit has permanently suspended my account for supporting Lemmy."

vonck,

@kopio same as a boost on mastodon, if you follow a kbin user a boost will be visible on your timeline.
