I've just set up a trial account on Kbin (see profile), a #Fediverse Reddit alternative. I plan to use my main account to see how it federates with Mastodon :mastodon:
For starters, here's a link to a Vegan Recipes Kbin 'magazine' (sub-reddit) I found which folks might enjoy regardless -
@Natasha_Jay welcome to the asylum. you'll find the dev at that instance, who happens to be the overall leader on the kbin project, id niec and quiet and doesn't seem to really have an opinion on politics one way or the other.
and the user interface is GOOD. if you're on desktop then i suggest visiting the kbinStyles magazine (that's what they're called, by the way, and posts are called "articles") and basically installing the enhancement suite
@pilirin Thank you for the welcome! Yes I picked up on first sight that Kbin federates better, has a microblogging component to it, no politics in the background, and the developer seems more open ... so decided this direction to trial as opposed to Lemmy
