    putting a pronoun picker in your game is not only the right thing to do it makes the worst people in humanity have huge meltdowns basically for free so i can only say i recommend it highly

    Does anyone here run a system with a Window Manager but no desktop environment? I'm toying with the idea of installing Alpine with the X window manager or something. (On a secondary device that I intend to use mostly for distraction- free writing, so I do still need LibreOffice and maybe a lightweight browser)

    @visone my logic is that since this is a bonus laptop, the only things I need on it are LibreOffice and a lightweight browser. so hopefully the proprietary software won't be an issue!

    @visone as an update, I gave up trying to install Alpine because it had some kind of issue loading the Ethernet drivers and couldn't connect to the internet at all, so I installed Debian without a DE instead (and added Openbox on it!)

    @visone I haven't done too much with it but its exactly what I need! Kept it simple, the only thing on there is LibreOffice, but i got OpenBox set up how i wanted it. I've just been taking it with me to my writing group and the battery lasts about 4-5 hours running just LibreOffice - not bad for a laptop that's older than Instagram!

    @visone and yeah I gave up on Alpine when it couldn't install the Ethernet drivers, couldn't figure out how to make them load, but I used the Debian non-free installer and it worked correctly. (Still no WiFi, but I've got an ethernet cable in my room so that's no big deal)
