It might seem like a useless, innocent USB stick, but it contains dramatic pause an EndeavourOS Linux ISO.
Seriously, it's allowed me to download Ubuntu, EndeavourOS, and helped me save the latter from being corrupted after an awkward update. All those ISOs and messings-around-on-a-whim may have abused it a bit but I really love this USB.
Just your reminder that not everyone downloads ISOs into USBs and installs 2 OSs. Linux is soo cool. People who use Linux are cool.
Heeey #Masto folk! Wondering if you guys can recommend me a good instance I can move to (must support Mastodon and run in Mastodon clients, but doesn't have to be Mastodon).
I find that fosstodon doesn't exactly suit my needs anymore, and I'm also thinking of moving to a much much smaller instance, especially:
@writeblankspace they are run by the same people. Infosec.space is blocks threads.net, but is otherwise managed the same with the same rules and is much, much smaller
I don't think it is correct to say that Tagalog is based off Malay. This implies that without Malay, Tagalog would not exist. It is more correct to say Malay and Tagalog are related languages, and are probably based off a common language.
Bro this show on Netflix, The Trust: a Game of Greed, really picked (mostly) the wrong women.
Like ok girl you guys celebrate being girls and are against misogyny but uh... there's a difference between misogyny and you being an a-hole, being randomly picked last because someone had other thoughts in their head (not just you) and being pissed off about it to the point you hold a grudge.
I kinda hope to get an account on the waitlist of alpha.polymaths.social, but polyglot.city seems nice enough. I am in no way either a polymath nor a polyglot (well unless you count Filipino and English and class-smart French) but they seem best suited to my interests.
Hey I like FOSS and what it stands for, but I'm not super into it soooo. I searched up 'linguistics' and saw polyglot.city and it looked cool enough.
@writeblankspace This definitely depends on the part of fedi you're on. There are many separate communities that may never interact with each other, and so this poll will probably be biased in some way.
The percent that you see are calculated from the number of votes that are visible to your account, so they can have any different number for any different visitor
For me for example they say right now 69% versus 31%
Not even the person who made the survey can get the true number, because their instance might silence other instances who have voted (into the void)
@writeblankspace dang, last test I did was the day after our first snow day, but also that test was before our second snow day. So that means last week we had school Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Bc Wednesday was a snow day, and so was Friday.
Okay, so for some reason my head decided to bring up the topic of synthesia.
What colours do you see for the letters A, B and C?
If your answer is red, blue and yellow... same!
And I thought, "But wait, I grew up associating those colours! People are born with synthesia, but by definition this is synthesia, right? I associate History class with green because my History book was green. Can synthesia be learned by everyday people?"
@writeblankspace synesthesia is the experience of another sensation, not the association. So with color–graphemic synesthesia, one will see the letters in a colour, not just have an association. I might associate 4 with red, it's colour is the same as any other.
One typical thing with synesthesia is also that it's not the same match up for all. One might see A as red, another will see it as blue. Etc.
And then there is a lot more than just color–graphemic synesthesia.
time to panic-study Physics even if my first exam is English Language
I mean I didn't get a TOO great grade for En Lang last exam, but it was okay, but in Physics my friend laughed at me for stupid answers like "oh the train isn't that fast irl for safety reasons" and such. Never again.
