Gets carried away in overly rambly rants about unimportant bullshit, uses fancy words without understanding their meaning, has a complete lack of self awareness.
Likes budgies.

BudgieMania,

Man I'm not ready for the Kurt Angle episode.

I remember being a "TNA kid" in the mid to late 2000's, and thinking that Angle was not human, he would straight up wrestle at 120% the intensity of a normal wrestler during those years.
Around 2009/2010, there were increasing rumors that Angle was seen limping and struggling to move backstage, but when the entrance music would start, he would shake it off, endure it just enough to wrestle his usual style of match, and go back just in time for the adrenaline to wear off.
"No way", I thought, "he's still moving as fast as ever, he's still as explosive as ever, those rumors must be fake".
Little did I know, not only were the rumors true, but the real toll that continuing to work at that level was taking on him was worse than any rumors could have guessed.

In the next 5 years, he aged 15.

He's a cautionary tale for any wrestler that thinks about mortgaging their body to wrestle at an increased level... Mortgages have brutal interests.

BudgieMania,

Whatever shred of justice can be extracted now unfortunately can't erase the fact that he got to get away with it for years and live a long prosperous life as a billionaire owner an empire.

I can't imagine how it must feel to deal with your trauma in obscurity while you watch them fly on private jets and be treated like messiahs because they are good at putting an expensive action-figure show on TV.

BudgieMania,

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

It has zero filler, it's wall to wall balls to the wall nonstop action

you might exceed the ten hours slightly if you're bad like me and get stuck in the final boss for two hours but otherwise it's perfect

BudgieMania,

In most cases, they hired and grew at an irresponsible rate in 2021-2022

Just compare the growth in employees in Microsoft in 2021-2022 compared to the 5 previous years or so

Of course, the employees are not to blame for that and should not pay for that, but that's how they roll I guess...

Sega sells off Relic Entertainment, will axe 240 jobs (www.gamedeveloper.com)

Canada-based studio Relic Entertainment, which recently released Company of Heroes 3, did receive some good news in the midst of these layoffs. The company announced on X (formerly Twitter) that it is becoming an independent studio thanks to the help of “an external investor” who went unnamed.

BudgieMania,

damn, I knew that Sega had had a few big blunders lately, but having to straight up sell Relic is pretty huge... Wonder how their output will look from now on, it's no secret that some of their output under Sega was questionable (primarily Dawn of War 3) and one has to wonder how much of their failings were due to Sega's directive.

BudgieMania,

I mean, now that the video streaming industry has shown us how the endgame looks like for subscription models, you'd have to be crazy to want that for the videogame industry.

Whatever short-term gains you can get in convenience or price by buying into their penetration stage are not worth contributing to leading the hobby down that road even an iota.

BudgieMania,

I will throw poop at the homes of their enemies if they revive Valkyria Chronicles and give Valkyria Chronicles 3 a proper localization

BudgieMania,

My coop Elden Ring run had both simultaneously, it was ridiculous.

"Make sure to create a good character" I told my brother, naively.

Inevitably, when I looked at his screen after creating my generic fair looking fantasy character, I saw he had engineered a neon-purple skinned monstrosity with protruding orbital bones that had ended up covering its eyes, of course all surrounded by fluorescent-green hair from all directions. When I protested that we couldn't possibly play with such clashing characters, he not only confirmed his character but insisted, throughout the whole playthrough, on wearing clothing and headwear that showed as much of the purple hideousness as possible.

My most repeated phrases in that playthrough were "oh shit, it's this boss, I had a bad time with it on solo"; "I swear, that boss was much harder than that on solo"; and "We get it, you are PURPLE".

BudgieMania,

The idea of Valve ever becoming a public corp ranks higher in my lists of fears than being eaten alive by zombies

Finally trying a resin printer, anything special I should know/any tips?

After getting frustrated with some mechanical issues in my FDM printer lately, and realizing that most of what I do with it are jobs probably more appropriate for a resin printer, I impulse ordered a cheap resin printer just to try if they are a better fit for me....

BudgieMania,

And we have been paying for it ever since. They will never make that mistake again lol.

BudgieMania,

I wonder if I'll be even worse in this one

orb dude doesn't seem to be in it so that's already a huge problem for me

BudgieMania,

nice, I'm waiting a bit to see if there's a steady stream of ongoing support before buying, but it's looking good so far

BudgieMania,

Wanted Dead

But I don't agree with the general perception that it is "bad", because in all the aspects that actually matter for making an action game fun, it was actually really good. It just got blasted for being lacking (admittedly, very lacking) in production value because somehow we are still giving importance to that in the 2020s...

BudgieMania,

I wonder how many times I will have to see a publisher significantly harm their reputation in the PC market in a yolo bet to set up their own ecosystem and store.

I thought Sony had been conservative and decided against it when their first steam releases hit but with this move it seems possible that a Sony PC ecosystem was always in the works and it just wasn't ready for those original releases. Oh well.

Anyone else addicted to Balatro right now? (www.playbalatro.com)

I’m not usually a huge fan of rogue-likes, but I’ve enjoyed a few, like Hades. I bought Balatro last week and have been absolutely smashing it ever since then. I love the way the game works, each run being so different even within the same framework, and the feeling when your build starts to go off is so incredibly...

BudgieMania,

when you get a god run with a good synergetic build this game is insanely satisfying

BudgieMania,

Because you have wasted like 5 opportunities that NVIDIA has given you to penetrate the market on a silver platter

The 7000 series could have been so successful if they would have been willing to undercut NVIDIA significantly, it was the perfect time to strike at a time when there was a lot of discontent with NVIDIAS ridiculous pricing and VRAM offerings. But AMD would rather sell two cards at 1000 each than take the bet of trying to sell four at 750.

At least in the past you could argue that they were not in a position to take huge bets in the graphics market but they've been doing too well as a company for that excuse to hold any value anymore. The last two generations can only be explained with complacency and lack of ambition.

At this point AMD kinda deserves to give up their position to Intel in the graphics market, let's see if the new player is willing to penetrate aggressively because the old player two is clearly ok with where they are at.

BudgieMania,

When I go back to read the stuff I write I think mostly "damn that guy sounds like a psycho"

BudgieMania,

Yet again, proof of what's always been true: eventually, there's always demand

BudgieMania,

Easy Red 2 is SO slept on right now relative to its quality, the work the team is putting in it, and its future potential

Always nice to see anothe ER2 enjoyer

BudgieMania,

I don't remember names, but many users around here called this to the letter

BudgieMania,

I mean most probably yeah, but they have also been progressively locking more and more functionalities behind paid tiers.

Now that they have fully penetrated and locked the market, killed any potential competitors, and become the default, I assume their "product" will be to make the free tier become less and less functional while also getting monetized in more annoying ways. If people don't like it maybe they should have known better than to make it the default.

Unfortunate.
